Still standing my support for BLU, also Yoshi p said that when the dev team was implementing RED mage into FFXIV , he was thinking if rdm should be a healer or DPS because of it's white magic abilities it is known for but he just made it a DPS with one healing ability

I'm so excited for Blue mage. I don't raid much and I'm happy to have in-between things to work on with Blue. It will be even better next expansion when I can work on my level 60 birds. It's nice to have a job that you can go back and try to solo content or create new ways to beat content. This is only the beginning. I'm excited to see where this goes.

I feel bad for people who didn't get what they want but people who don't raid but like semi challenging content need more thing to do than the brain dead dungeons and 24 man raids. They get old so quickly especially if you play frequently. I hope 5.0 is filled with more content in the halfway zone.

The idea of limited jobs as side content is potentially interesting, but for me, it's going to come down to how the masked carnival is implemented. I'm in theory fine with the idea of limited jobs being cut off from the main end game with the balance being they can go full ham with limited jobs, giving blu all these spells to go find without having to balance the job against the main combat jobs.

But if the carnival ends up being shallow, super short/easy, or something like that, it will kill the idea. Blu needs SOMETHING to do with all those spells besides just steamroll four year old content. If they can pull this off, I'll be fine with it. If the carnival is a let down and they don't add to/expend it over time as blue gets new spells/level cap...it'll feel like a huge waste.

Though I also understand why some people are upset that blue mage won't be an end game viable job. If blue mage was my favorite FF job I may well be disapointed that it wasn't just made into a regular job.

If they felt that the job was too busted or hard to balance around... If they felt they absolutely had to implement instance restrictions, I kinda wish they'd just prevented it from entering savage/extreme/ultimate content. Things like dungeons and normal-mode instances are... well, to put it bluntly, insignificant. Don't people care more about the bleeding-edge savage/extreme/ultimate content? Isn't that what people mostly talk about when they talk about balance? I am no hardcore player but I know I'd care more about factors affecting, say, Omega Savage progression over... melting a random boss in Gubal Library faster.

Seems like part of the dissatisfaction with BLU is that one couldn't rightly sit there and say "I main Blue Mage." because as it stands, it is [and this has been said multiple times before] not so much a new job as an activity unto itself. People like that sense of ownership and personalization. You know, to take a job and "make it yours" so to speak. I just think that if the instance restrictions weren't as harsh, it'd go a long way towards making it feel like it's "your job."

Just this tired lala's two gil.
