Unless there was a mistranslation issue, I don't believe that is the case. If it were, this wouldn't even be an argument to begin with.I don't think the "limited" status is permanent. I want to find a recording of the FanFest so I can listen more closely to what Yoshi P said, because I believe he suggested that eventually BLU was going to gain access to all content: PvP, raids, deep dungeon, duty finder, etc.
YES! We shouldn't be settling for less. We should ask for more and then be patient while the devs work on it.People wanted Blue Mage in FFXIV to actually play Blue Mage in FFXIV. People being upset that an arbitrary line was drawn solely for this job when every other job has been restructured to fit the game it's in is perfectly valid. Blue Mage is no more unworkable in the trinity than Red Mage was.
You can be excited for this iteration of Blue. I think most people who want to raid as it are happy with what the solo content represents and how true to the flavor it is. That doesn't mean the dev team could not have done a better job in regards to its interaction with the rest of the game. They absolutely could have.
The answer to jobs and problems like this shouldn't be limitation, it should be expansion.
I'm personally excited for the solo overworld-version of Blue Mage!!!!
I'm willing to give it a try, I mean, why not. Lets see what this limited system can do!
Sure you would, until the moment you realize that Blue Mage would not be resurrected. It would remain a failed experiment, the job abandoned forever after.
Personally, I see some great times ahead for those who prefer to test their personal gaming skills, their ability to apply strategy in a fixed arena.
I see pre-made parties who weren't playing FFXIV in 2014/2015 finally working on the Coils of Bahamut - at level, synced.
I see an opportunity to display some pretty iconic gear while role playing.
I seen an opportunity to do more than spend 12 minutes in an instance pressing 1-2-3-4 over and over again.
I see a LIMITED job with UNLIMITED potential to do more in this game than craft and raid.
And that is good.
You would wish for something that other people are eager for, and are anxious to enjoy, to crash and burn out of spite if it isn't changed to suit your fancy!? I wholly support BLU as it is currently being designed but if your side does get their wish I would never be so petty as to hope it crashes and burns on you...
If you support BLU as is then you're already supporting something that makes a lot of people unhappy so I don't see the difference. You would wish for something that other people are eager for, and are anxious to enjoy, to crash and burn out of spite if it isn't changed to suit your fancy!? I wholly support BLU as it is currently being designed but if your side does get their wish I would never be so petty as to hope it crashes and burns on you...
You can't see the difference between 1. Either supporting the design or wanting it to be changed and 2. Wishing for whichever design actually ends up becoming a reality to crash and burn? Honestly!? The first situation is practical and appropriate while the other is childishly spiteful.

Did I say that? I said I wanted full jobs AND the fun side content. I want both sides to get what they want. If that means that limited jobs have to fail first to make SE act then okay. You would wish for something that other people are eager for, and are anxious to enjoy, to crash and burn out of spite if it isn't changed to suit your fancy!? I don't want to see blu be dead for good if/when the limited jobs idea fails. I want SE to take more time if that's necessary to give the types of content that both groups want instead.
