    DS4 Controller Frontal Sensitivity

My issue is difficult to explain but basically when I move the left analog stick up (which should make me go forward as if I were pressing "W" on the keyboard) it instead is so sensitive that it will invariably force me to drift left or right. This indicates to me that there is no upward conal deadzone so if I'm even a fraction of a degree off, I cannot go straight. I must be missing what to change that would allow me add or increase this deadzone because when I played on PS4 years ago I am positive that this was not an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

DS4 as in the windows plug-in to convert game play into controller? Or DS4 as in the controller series?

Did you try re-calibrating your controller if you are on the PS4?

If you are on the PC but is using the DS4 plug-in, I stopped using it because it gave me so much issues. So I found Cronusmax Plus. It's a USB that does the same thing except its better imo.

DS4 as in the controller. I have also used DS4Windows but unfortunately it does not seem to have the setting I'm looking for either. I will look into that product, thanks for the information! I just need it to allow me to run forward without drifting. I'm not sure why this isn't a basic setting. I know that it is correct by default on the PS4 version of the game.

How old is your controller too btw? If your controller is the first generations, they have problems with the shoulder pads. And sometimes, this causes problems to surface in other parts of my calibration. My first generation controller tends to pan my camera slightly in a circle when I would set it down. After I found out that they have the second generation out, they fixed the many problems that were apparently in the first generation controller.

I tried two controllers. One was a year or so old, another was 2ish years old. I checked their inputs on DS4Windows. They both were in working order. If I move the analog stick in a circle, it perfectly follows the path. And in-game I can move straight forward, I just have to make sure its perfectly straight up. Its just that in most games Ive played using my DS4 on the PC, there is clearly some leeway moving in the forward direction so you don't have to be perfect. My controller works perfectly on Destiny 2 for example.

Hmm... Thats pretty odd.... Because ever since I got the newer generation controllers, everything is fine after-wards.... Did you check your analog sensitivity under system settings?

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I apologize for the delay in my response. You mentioned trying two different controllers, were they both DS4 controllers? Have you tried using another type of controller? Does it have the same result?

Do you use the controller with any kind of controller configuration? For example, the Steam Controller Configuration can be active even if you don't launch the game through Steam.

I've tried to replicate this but the controller worked as it should.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

My controller does the same thing, it's a bit annoying to compensate for.

I use the default Steam controller configuration for the game.
