I would like to see Gunblade for a new tank weapon.
Oh wait, we are getting it for 5.0!

If we're talking EQ2 takeaways... I'd rather get ClericShamanUnique Healing from there... Heal on Hit buffs with a count... kind of like this weird space between Regen and Excog. But ya... Swash/Brig tanks were ridiculous in the early days.
But for a mobile tank... Short Spear/Javelin with a moderate Shield would work... think Spartan/Achilles/Pantheon (LoL)... stop drooling...
But I'm back in Giant Hammer Camp for 7.0.
Now if we're talking Pile-Shields... I'd say Tower of Druaga has probably the best version of it.
Sansetsukon/Sanjiegun or Three-Sectioned Staff could be interesting, could go with the more spear like variants as well. Could be interesting to have its Tank Stance split the weapon, while its DPS stance merges it back together.
Always game for Tower Shields tho... like full on Shin to Shoulder not those puny rectangular shields PLDs sometimes get that are barely hip to shoulder. More like the shield in the above image (even tho the "hero" pile-shield is a buckler with a pile like 3 to 5 times its diameter).

Magitek armor for tank weapon.
A caber! Now, there's the ranged tank some people would like to try playing! Think about it...
"Ha, ha! Look at that big dummy running around with a tree trunk! How did he even get it into our dungeon? Hoo, hooo! Don't strain yourself, there, bu-...
Oh, ****... did he just throw that thing at us?
Did he just pull out another one? Quick! Kill him!"
Oh, and we already have Highlanders in the game, so, why not?
