How is replaying 2 year old content in anyway not stale? you're implying BLU is planned to have a greater longevity than any other content seen in XIV, when it is absolutely more of the same. It's re-used enemy skills, same old fate grinding, same old open world, and one new instance that is a solo battle trial that requires you to do older content to be efficient at it.
The only people that would possible gain any sort of value out of BLU in it's current iteration are people that enjoyed doing level 50 dungeons/primals, or very VERY new players that have just hit 50 on vanilla ARR. The only actual new content that BLU brings is the carnival.
Again we don't know how they'll stagger the levels, but it was stated that BLU would have it's level increased throughout 4.5 AND the 5.0 patch cycle from what I recall. That means they have no intention of allowing you to do higher than level 50 content for 2 months, at best we'll get level 60 before the expansion drops, and 80 at expansions end.

I get that, but here what BLUE could turn into to. Go to a point on the map. Click the circle and enter a solo instance with "X" monster. Monster uses skill, you learn skill. You Kill monster. Rinse and repeat. Reskinned skills with Monster Skill names.... That is my biggest concern

I'm perfectly fine with this though, as that is quite literally no different from
Go to spawn on map > engage in combat > see skill > kill mob > hope you learn skill.
I think the misguided issue is the necessity people feel for the fact that collecting monster skills were fun and new, they weren't, they were probably (for me) the worst part of using BLU, the only exception to this was X which made it feel much more fluid to learn abilities by having khimari use lancet. What made BLU interesting and unique for me, especially in XI and even IX was USING the skills that I had gained, the fact that I felt like this tricky saboteur giving monsters a taste of their own medicine. It was invigorating I enjoyed USING monster skills more than I did learning them.
The closest thing I could compare it to was throwing as a ninja, especially after stealing power items.
Now I understand this might not seem like the traditional reason to use BLU and might even RUN IN LINE with the devs team interpretation of BLU, but I truly feel like there's a way to incorporate it into the combat system, get that same feeling, and keep it close to BLU. I don't have a problem with the job quests being as described because...well that's just what BLU was, you went to a monster you knew would give you your skill, and then learned it. The only interesting parts of BLU were arguably V where you needed to control enemies to gain certain skills.
NOW THAT BEING SAID, if they added a way to FORCE monsters to use skills that you wanted, or made the act of actually learning as interesting and at least bearable as Khimari's was, I would have no complaints. The problem is BLU described to me now just feels very uninspired and stale this includes it's render, which looks nothing like other AF gear, the only thing I'm looking forward to is it's lore.
Edit: Also I'd like to add, a lot of people claim that job quest would hinder BLU thematically but...Job quest have for the most part, been handled really well by square and are generally well received because. We feel a connection to the job's history and lore by the end of it, for the most part, we understand how this job fits into the world and how it came into being outside of the blurb we get.
I love that, and I hope no matter what happens BLU has LORE that is outside of it's initial unlocking, that makes it feel like a part of the world and not just a--traveling show performer.

This is an incredibly dumb quote. It's people forget there playing a damn MMO.
The whole point in MAKING NEW CONTENT is providing something NEW. The only "in game systems" people do in this game is raiding. So anything that is not raiding it's bad?
An MMO is about providing a vibrant world with all sorta of activities to do, and when the dev team makes something a bit new, people like you bitch about it. I'm sure the expansion will have regular jobs to play as.
90% of which BLU is locked from in any reasonable fashion...
It's locked out of anything reasonable beyond its level cap, and we have no guarantee it'll be brought to relevant level cap ever.
It's locked out of most of ShB content while that content is relevant because even if it's brought up there, it won't happen for months.
It's essentially locked out of more because it depends on the good graces of people to help it even get into content, because it's barred from the Duty Finder.
Eureka, a place where it might shine the most, is where BLU as is currently imagined must never set foot in lest it destroyed the experience of everyone around. Oh you needed that NM? Too bad a BLU just Death'd it without ANYONE ELSE even breathing on the thing. Enjoy.
There have been very few people on our side saying that they think doing things for the open world and the Carnival content were a waste of time and resources. Most of us have said we have no problems with the Carnival and actually hope it does well and content like it would be expanded or at least a form of it for all jobs. We are against a job having these types of restrictions especially when we think the reasons given for it are very poor. New content is fine but a new job that's in its own little box that is pushed into the corner of the game is bad and will possibly be forgotten as it collects dust. Especially when that new job is as requested as blue mage.

We have a vibrant forest, a vibrant prairie, a vibrant mountain, and, now, a vibrant coast! You can see each of them in their respective green screen rooms.
The problem is that we've yet one more thing that interacts with only its own isolated playset, just adding onto the precedent for separate rooms rather than trying to create a cohesive world from and between them. Neither it being just another job nor it being a limited job help in that regard. It would need to be a real job, which changes the limits for the rest.

No, we didn't forget that we're playing an MMO. It seems that everyone gobbling up this idea of Blue Mage in XIV have forgotten what MMO stands for initially at it's core. A massive multiplayer online video game, not a single-player RPG with solo jobs that only work for a fraction of the entire game's content to offer. The game is SUPPOSE to get more people wanting to party and work together in relevant content, promote more community togetherness, not "Here's a job you can play as a solo minigame without ever actually being responsible for working with your party members as a team. Enjoy".
So is telling people they shouldn't have an opinion - or that said opinion only matters when it specifically affects them adversely.
It's a hot topic for a reason - people are trying to make sense of a new direction for content that came out of left field and to try to offer suggestions on how to make more players assumedly happy with the outcome. But a lot of it is guessing, like you are saying, sure. But Parts of it are not - some parts have already been stated as facts. And some of those facts are causing issues, and people are trying to voice their opinions and concerns. If there is a better way to do that than on these forums, I at least am all ears. I know in a previous game, there was a method where you could type /feedback and a special window would open where you could directly send in feedback on the game. They were reviewed in their morning meetings (I know - a dev called me out on it specifically one time lol), and while there was no direct response, we knew at least our voices were heard. Maybe not catered to, but heard.
Granted, I agree on people cancelling now instead of waiting is premature - and chances are they already had one foot out the door and this was likely their final straw or what they are using as an excuse.
If people were told, "Hey, we've read this thread, or that thread, and we are taking what you are suggesting and giving it serious consideration," by someone who could say that with authority, chances are most people would stop there. But instead, they have to take the approach of the squeaky wheel getting the Astral Oil.
