USB xbox controller not working (PC)

Howdy,

I'm playing ffxiv on xbox controller, win10 and from second to another my controller stopped working, it works in windows settings, tryed to calibrate it, everything works fine, but once i start the game, gamepad does not respond.

(Yes, gamepad is enabled in settings)

It happened during logging if i have to be exact. Controller just stopped working, no idea why, so i had to play on mouse and keyboard. the game worked still normally. I tryed Dark Souls and Rocket league, yet with no problem.


EDIT: It worked once, when i turned on pc in the morning, yet on another launch it wasnt again.

simple check: Is it enabled in the character configuration?
Are you trying to use controller and mouse/KB or just controller?

When you got the controller to work, did you start any other programs afterwards? It sounds like it worked, then something was triggered that made it fail the next time.

I'd suggest trying a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

To nosamkin: I'm using only controller. Mouse+kb are really uncomfortable for me to play

To Einmimiria: Only thing i have usually opened with game is browser, sometimes with some communication program. In the task manager is everything disabled, except: Antivirus and Sound manager.

OK. I'm just going for some of the issues i've had. I've tried to use both and it doesn't work too well. One or the other is ok.

Question: On "System Configuration" does it indicate XBOX controller or something else?

On the " System Configuration" there should be a drop down menu that lets you select what kind of controller you are using.

In devices on system is my controller known as XBOX360 Controller for windows. When i try the "Calibration" function in properities it works fine, every button and lever. Also it does the same when it doesnt work in game, which is strange. Windows sees it works, yet in-game i get nothing.

Have you tried deleting the locally saved files? If not, please do so by going to the" My Documents" folder then accessing " My Games". Click the " Final Fantasy XIV" folder".
