The SDS Fenrir should be a tandem/two-person mount

Given the $30 price point to purchase it (or a $150 Fanfest ticket), it being a fairly large mount and having ample room for a second person to just ride on the back, I feel like it should really be a tandem mount. The other two $30 mounts are also two-person.

From a value point, it's pretty expensive for a mount that doesn't haven't a unique flying or underwater animation, without the two-person functionality that the others have.

Plus, it would be a lot of fun to share it with a friend, I have lots of good memories from riding motorcycles with friends.

Yeah, but if you actually have unlocked all increased speed (which is rather easy through hunts), that boon is practically nothin'. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It won't be nothing when SHB hits. You know, that purgatory before you can fly in a zone, heck, before you even unlock the story-based speed upgrades.
Also it's amazing on alts.

It wasn't a problem in Heavensward, it wasn't a problem with Stormblood (before you have unlocked flying and had to get the aether currents). If the maps will be smaller in SHB, then I really don't see what's so great about +1 mount speed. You'll probably upgrade the mount speed for each map anyway at a later point.

So I was actually curious about this. I don't have any riding maps on my alt, while my friend's main has them all. We were land-riding in outer la noscea and she was easily outstripping me. Where's my increased speed?

alt has 0 and story progression with my knowledge so your still with +1 speed while your friend has all putting him at +2

The mount feels slow in SB areas or it might be my misconception but I haven't unlocked hunts yet as I been doing Eureka for my tomes/gear. Does this mean the mount doesn't get +2 speed if u have msq speed unlocked but not hunt unlocked? Confused as it doesn't feel like it does.

Also I have a few alts going through MSQ in ARR/HW areas so the mount's +1 speed is very noticeable.

It's not the same thing. And the additional mount speed is actually pretty meaningless, why do you actually need to go slightly faster? You don't. I also find it hilarious people are buying the extra mount speed as a "buff" and new feature when it should have just been a game update applied to every single mount by default already when they dumped PS3.

Would you pay $5 extra dollars for "more" mount speed that is available for free in-game? I wouldn't.

Would I pay extra for the ability to have a friend or someone else ride with me that may not be able to fly in a zone or needs to AFK? Yes, that is usefulness that lasts forever.
