Something Extra to do aside from the normal grind

Why cant people be happy that the dev team is adding in new innovative ways to create additions to this game. This is what I personally see for the Limited Jobs.

People have wanted something more to do after they have completed the weekly raid targets, something more to do than grind tomes or something more to do than eureka.

They have tried beast tribe dailies, works for some. Tried crafting which works for some. Tried many things and now we get something new. Something that was from the outset designed to be broken and has always been broken in every iteration of FF that was ever released but they are giving it to us to play with.

It is still an mmo, you can still go make friends and have fun with the job. Why is not being randomly paired in the duty roulette such a let down? Unless your only goal was to be broken and OP and show it off to random people?
A real MMO is not about the random pairings anyway, so this job is in a sense the only true MMO job.

Because, in this case, it has a cost.

As of right now, the inclusion of BLU as a Limited Job likely means that it won't ever be a normal Job. THAT is why people have their collective panties in bunches.

If they had said something like "We aren't ruling out a DF version of BLU later" people wouldn't even be thinking twice.

Then what do you do when that "something new" is complete?

People can hate on the daily/weekly "grinds", but at the end of the day it's what keeps people subbed. What'd be the point of paying to play this game if you could only complete everything once?

By that logic, everything else with an end goal is pointless, too. Relics? Trash. Gold Saucer? You only need so much MGP.

What do you do when the current raid tier is complete?
You wait for the next one.

What do you do when you've leveled every job to cap?
    Wait for the next expansion.

You're looking at this the wrong way.
Being a Job, Blue Mage is obligated to be kept up to date just like every other job.
Unlike other side content like Diadem or Eureka that is a one time thing, Blue Mage will have to be updated just like everything else.
It's proper side content, that will actually be future proof.

I dont ever recall them saying that a limited job could never evolve into a real job either. They simply said they did not see a place for it, so play it have fun with it and see if it can become something more with actual real data to back it up.

Maybe it will fall on us the players to find its role and place in the world. Even if it does mean creating some blocks on skills. For the time being though we get to level up a job and not have any restrictions placed on it. Though i guess you will have a team of 8 blue mages wandering around the world with death loaded and trying to purposely ruin the experience for everyone else.
