    New EU Datacenter Languages

With the EU being split down the middle into Chaos and Light, and mention that the servers were grouped according to most prominent languages, in order to do their best to keep raid groups together, do we know which datacentres will be the de facto English speaking one, and which will be German/French?
They haven’t specified anything, but I’m wondering if some servers are already known for their high amount of French/German speakers, so that we might determine which datacentre is which.

As far as I'm aware, from what people have said Chaos seems to be going towards English/French, while Light is English/German. Odd way to split them I think, but well the whole split is a mess so go figure.

It seems to be tricky, and I'm not sure if they actually did what they tried to do in the first place.
I know for one that Moogle is "French" whereas most German people I meet are from either Odin on Shiva (correct me if I'm wrong). Omega is certainly more English speaking than anything else, and I don't know about the other Worlds.

To me it seems like a lottery drawing has happened and they just rolled with it, I can't find the connection to the dots myself on this one.

Well nowhere in the game there is an indication of "more german-friendly here" or else. Everything is external, and we just chose a server randomly.
For instance I'm on Zodiark, I'm French. There are big FCs for french community, and it's not rare to meet people speaking french. But we will be on Light, not with Moogle. In the end for EU there will always be people speaking different languages and that's fine.
I'm happy they did the repartition based on active players so that it's roughly equal.

They may be going by the chosen language of UI. That will also include people that don't use duty finder, for example.

Of course since there are no language-specific servers like Mansion said, you will find people of all languages on all servers, let alone data centers. But hey, Europe just needs to be a pain in the ass like that. And I am from Europe, not even user of the Spanish, French or German languages that everyone caters to, so no, it's not a "nationality superiority" comment there.

Well, Europe is mostly acceptably knowledgeable in English, so that's a language you can expect to be used widely anyway as the most common one, pretty much.

I do not think language was a significant factor in how the servers were grouped. If it appears that way, it is probably just coinicidence.

It's not split English on one side, German/French on the other (thank the Twelve for this...), but English/German on Light and English/French on Chaos.

Except they literally said it was.

And yet the way you put it sounds INCREDIBLY like nationality superiority thinking.

Um...Huh?! I am saying something that suggests that I am a nationalist with my nationality being superior when I say that my own nationality with some others are a pain due to how unnecessarily fractured they are?! I don't know one could be superior over themselves. Learning new things everyday, huh...

In other (serious) words, I am acknowledging a flaw that a group to which I belong possesses. Seeing it as anything else shows absolute lack of healthy self-criticism...which is a plague in current times anyway, so it's not surprising.

I feel the same way. I'm from the EU, Finnish so no language support for me (nor do I want it) and all the language barriers on the EU servers really bother me. It just fragments the community and creates these cliques with people only playing with others of the same language. I don't like it when people speak French, German, Spanish or whatever over English, and no, I don't want to hear Finnish either. I just want us to be this one big community instead of these small separate ones.
