    Even if you reinstall the game on another drive though, you still need to keep at least 2GB free on your C: (or specifically, you need 2GB free where your Documents directory is, it just defaults to C

    When the game patches it downloads the patch files to "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\downloads" and then patches wherever you installed the game/deletes them afterwards.

    The above posters are correct, select the D drive (or whichever drive you prefer) upon installation. In general it's suggested that you keep around 10% of you C Drive free for things like this.
