TP/MP merger gives a higher chance for dancer

Now with the change for MP/TP I think we have a higher chance of seeing dancer as a new healer job for 5.0. It would have been hard for dancer to be a TP based healer since the other healers use MP. Now that everyone will be using the same resource for their actions, I feel like there is a higher chance they can make dancer fit into the healer role. What do you think about this?

Redundant. If they wanted to implement Dancer as healer, they'd have used MP regardless of whether TP exists or not, as it'll be just a flavored copy of the other healers anyway.

This is an intensely pessimistic way of looking at it. While I agree that healer is the role with the most similarity between the three jobs, they all definitely have their different playstyles, perks and weaknesses.

I enjoy Scholar the most because of managing the fairy and utilizing aetherflow stacks intelligently for powerful cooldowns as well as inflicting extra damage. I like White Mage because of its powerful throughput ability and mana efficiency, making it my go-to choice for healing content I am unfamiliar with. I do not like Astrologian because I dislike the card draw mechanic and find their healing tools more limiting than the other options.

It is very possible to make different kinds of healers in MMORPGs. World of Warcraft's healers all have very distinct playstyles, so there's no reason to believe that FFXIV can't make a healer which plays in a distinct way. Even in FFXIV itself, Scholar is proactive absorb healer while White Mage is a reactive throughput healer. AST switches based on their healer partner.

I would kinda like to see a healer similar to Disc Priest in WoW. Heal your party by doing damage to the enemies.
