I'll take Chaos going down every week like it has been since forever, over splitting the Chaos data center like this.

I'll take every single story instance being Raubahn Extreme forever, over splitting the Chaos data center like this.

I truly do not know how anyone on the development team could look at Chaos' relatively low population and figure splitting us up is remotely a good idea. Such a monumentally bad move... I'd rather the next Eureka Relic grind be a mobile game to content with Diablo, since we're clearly in a "Who can disappoint their fans the most" pissing contest with Blizzard at this point... What an absolute disaster of a FanFest...

For one, Housing. While they offer some compensation, it's really not enough. There is absolutely no guarantee you'll get the same/similar plot when you transfer. Having your FC go poof is an issue too, more so with a House (enjoy grinding to rank 6 to unlock the ability to buy a House, while all of them get bought up...), Airship/Submarine progress up in smoke too.

Then there's the matter of friends. OK, I might be fine with moving. What about my friends? What about their friends? Anyone who has spent time mingling with the community is likely to lose someone because of this. Fracturing existing communities like this, in an MMO of all things, is just... It's monumentally stupid... All to fix Rabauhn Extreme, which I guarantee will still happen on every data center regardless, unless they change how they plan launch content and split players up with a branching story quest early, that's just the nature of bottleneck quests during launch hysteria otherwise. Meanwhile most of the recurring issues with Chaos are DDoS related which, you guessed it, this also wont fix... As far as I see it there is no benefit to this move, and a lot of negatives... Splitting the community and effectively halving the playerbase of an already sparsely active data center... It's just sheer nonsense... I'd say I can't believe the developers would be this dense, but... Diadem, Lords of Verminion, Eureka, Oh My!

Assuming the split hasn't already happened by then, I hope every. single. person. who gets up to ask a question at the Paris FanFest Q&A asks the same damn thing; "Is this data center split an out-of-season April Fools joke?"

Every player up on stage for the FRC needs to ask this. Everyone in the Q&A. Everyone who just happens to bump into Yoshida. Can't think of any other way for them to be made aware of the monumental mistake they're making with this, since forums complaints tend to go straight in the trash, こう書かないと聞こえない

Plenty of alternatives to fix the issues we see at expansion launch but they choose the cheapest, easiest, most detrimental to the community. Such valued customers we are, of this small indie company.

Throwing existing customers under the bus for hypothetical potential customers strikes me as solid marketing. I'll definitely be recommending Shadowbringer to all my friends. After all, I've just lost most of my current friends that play! Need to restock those numbers in time for 6.0 when they can repeat this nonsense.

Upgrading our servers, rather than just splitting them and adding more of the same shoddy hardware, would have actually impressed me. "Oh hey, they're finally investing in XIV again, perhaps that'll carry over to the content they design and we'll finally get something new that isn't a complete half-baked mess", instead I'm just sitting here thinking this is exactly what I expect from SE. Screw the players, go for the cheap, easy option. After all, there are plenty of apologists on the forums who'll defend XIV no matter what they do. With every announcement that small indie company meme becomes a bigger insult to indie companies; Those guys at least care about their fanbase.

Sadly, that Final Fantasy VII Remake isn't going to pay for itself. Nor is the space exploration mission to find a market big enough to let that game turn a profit, because there certainly aren't enough souls on Earth capable of buying it for it to be profitable. Why on Earth does SE refuses to invest in one of their best sources of income, and instead decides to haemorrhage money on that vaporware... Didn't learn anything from XIII, didn't learn anything from XV, third times the charm, I guess? Shame they seem to have forgotten what they learned with XIV 1.0... I miss Squaresoft...
