I don't disagree with your conclusion, I just think you've got them mixed up. Light will be the dead DC, thanks to Ragnarok being in Chaos. But yes, PvP is going to be even more dead than it already is, and you'll never see 100 PFs up in PF again.Basically every person who genuinely cares about the game and likes to play will ditch chaos and move to light, which removes the activity from chaos. I don’t even believe Louisoix/omega are full to begin with. Split will ruin the chaos dutyfinder. Everyone will move to light and only the people who like to stand infront of their fc house with their friends and don’t actually play, will probably stay on chaos. EU DC already has signifant smaller player base, why split it? Pvp is gonna be completely on one DC, too.
I also don't see that being true.
Light has a few very healthy, long lasting worlds (Odin, Phoenix, Shiva) which are also rather balanced in their game approach (PvE, raid, etc.). Now Chaos has those 2 very big worlds which get countered by the very small, rather new worlds. Not sure it was the smartest decision but I am quite fine with being in Light.
I am very curious about the amount of people transferring and if it is Chaos -> Light or Light -> Chaos.
So uuh.. basically we cannot play together anymore and our static gets torn apart? (Unless they enable Datacenter to Datacenter communication)
Well umm.. EPIC FAIL, SE!
I don’t think. Light has Phoenix, Odin, and what else I forgot. When ragnarok and Cerberus get punished for being active so they get put with the weak servers. I can see Cerberus people moving too. Ragnarok I can’t tell, but has lots of pvp veterans who also raid and we are definitely considering leaving.
You can't add a new PvP mode and then halve the population of the smallest data center, and expect queues to be alright. I don't care if you want to split the worlds into two groups, with two cross-server party finders, but you ultimately need to ensure they share one duty finder system. The queue times are already abysmal as it currently stands. What happens when most people start jumping ship and an imbalance grows between the two data centers?
Player
Chaos is getting split but not Japan. This is dumb.
Japan already has 3 DCs - why would they need to split those up? If they want to attract more EU-players and offer more server-space for those of us who life in the EU (or would like to play on an EU-server), they need to add more servers and apparently that also requires them to create a new datacenter. I'm not sure how the situation of the japanese servers is related to this at all?
Well, I do understand where the split is coming from, most of you only see what will happen now, like less players, longer ques splitting of PVE and PVP. Yes it is true it will happen. But the split is not because we need it now. It's because they will need it for new Expansion and the sea of new people who will start playing the game. The current Datacenter/Severs won't be able to handle that load. It's also easier to implement it now, so that when Shadowbringers gets released there won't be that many issues for players. Doing it early on is a measurement in case something goes wrong and they have to time to fix. Do you all want the severs to be down during new expansion, so that they can fix it.
Also people complaining about PF, while yes it will have Less PF's, but the PF's will be filled much faster. If you look at current PF most end up hours waiting for that 1 or 2 players to join.
I am mean I am not all too happy either, since 7/8 of my Raid is in Cerberus. I have friends on Ragnarok and Moogle and yes I won't be able to play with them. But I can see why they are doing it.
YOSHI BUFF RDM IN PVP
And how long does it work fine after new expansion?Well, I do understand where the split is coming from, most of you only see what will happen now, like less players, longer ques splitting of PVE and PVP. Maybe some months and then PFs are dead especially if you wanna do something else than the newest stuff or if you dont do the newest stuff with a static or not at prime time in the evening.
