Question Regarding Purchasing Expansions Steam vs non steam

Hello,

I recently started playing the game and am about to buy the expansions. I have the base starter version through twitch prime and it is a NON STEAM version.

I am looking to buy stormblood which I am told gives me Heavesward as well but I noticed steam is having a sale of Stormblood for half the price of the Square store.

My question would be, can I purchase the SB expansion via steam and activate it on my account or am I locked into paying more on the square store. Also will buying stormblood give me heavensward as I have been told.

They are 2 separate versions, sadly, as indicated by the different versions purchasable on the SE store. You will need to commit to one or the other because neither are shared. Or buy both if that's your thing.

Since you got it through twitch prime, it means you got it for free, right? So, it's like you haven't bought anything. You can still buy from Steam, if you want. Just buy the complete edition since you'll need the starter edition as well.

If you do that you will have to start over, you can't transfer a character from one account to another.

If you're only 20 levels in this isn't big deal, but you should be aware of it all the same.
