De-spawn surrounding monsters when High level fates start.

Lately is seems every time a high level fate spawn pops ts in the worse hours where not many people are online which is bad enough. but even when you manage to get a group of people together its infuriating that the local spawns make what is already a hard enough fight even harder and that much more frustrating by agroing us while we are trying to run around to avoid the targets attacks and its adds only to run into and attacked by the local spawns Fighting a war on two fronts.

I think it would be very good that in such cases of high level fates that the area in and around that fate de-s[awn the normal monsters so that we can concentrate on the already challenging task of taking on these fates.

I think that defeats the purpose of difficult monsters. You'd expect trash mobs/adds with bosses, so in a way, surrounding monsters are kind of the same. I admit surrounding monsters are annoying but they should die relatively quickly if you at least have an off-tank to group the surrounding monsters and a DPS to AOE kill them.

The fate is supposed to be the challenge and many of these high level fates already come with their own adds. surrounding trash mobs especially in areas like yanxia where the mobs are as strong as the spawns for the fate add an even more frustrating and unnecessary element when we are there for the fate bot the trash. Not to mention lately it seems these ridiculous fates have been popping , on my server at least, during hours where there is almost noone online to gather in the allotted time to do the fate. You want ridiculously hard challenges fine I'm sure you love savage rank dungeons but this is a fate out in the world. The fate should be the target not garbage around it.

Well you'll probably have a lot of fun in Eureka if you ever go in there. On many occasion other players will bring in additional mobs from near the NM (FATE) you are doing, and people shouting "what %#$& brought in those mobs!?!". I think it's SE's intention not to mess with the surrounding mobs when it comes to FATES, possibly to encourage positioning perhaps...

A little bit of strategy goes a long way. You can move the boss or clear the trash. This game, esp the fates, are faceroll easy as it is and dealing with the environment is part of the challenge of the fate or they would just have them all spawn in mobless areas. Not trying to be a jerk or troll either, but comparing FATES to savage content is literally one of the funniest things I have heard on these forums in awhile too, so thanks for the chuckle.

As for the bigger fates like Ixion or others that would be "world boss" types, the devs need set them to scale the fate to the participants like almost every other game does, then this wouldn't be an issue. But standard fates and even most boss ones, just pay attn to where you are, I cant think of any you cant avoid the regular mobs by just moving the boss 3 steps to the left. And even if you can't, dealing with surrounding mobs is part of the challenge.

We need less nerfs, not more. You can already watch Netflix, bake a cake, knit a sweater and do a jig while participating in 99% of this games content.

Not necessarily talking about all fates but more to the rare epic ones which are long fights and often have their own adds. You cant move the boss from the fate area without it resetting for one and for two surrounding mobs re spawn. ITs hard enough, as i said at least in my server, to rally enough people especially when they isn't on spawning at odd hours when there's fewer people one, its frustratingly difficult to deal with surrounding trash mobs at the same time as a fate boss and its adds. We don't have unnecessary additional adds in dungeons and raids why have it in the world at large. There is challenging and then there is just annoying. We get usually 30 minutes to get these fates done its hard enough just to get everyone assembled sometimes and then there is the time in the fight depending o the size of the group you manage to gather. Despawning trash mobs is not unreasonable and not a NERF its makes perfect sense when the mission is the fate itself which is already a hard fight by design.
And my savage comparison is meant to convey the fact that some players like harder the usual fights and that's fine. That's why savages exist. but not everyone shares the love for frustration. A fate out in the world should be reasonably difficult but not ridiculously frustrating. That's not fun its just annoying. Especially when these fates contain drops that are used in unique rewards which everyone should have the chance at earning.

Can you give specific examples of FATEs where you feel this is an issue?

The only FATE I can think of where the normal mobs in the area are even mildly annoying is The Eyes Have It in Coerthas Central Highlands. Even then they're only a problem if people ignore them while focusing on the boss and the boss adds so they swarm the healers. If I'm organizing a group for that FATE, I make sure there's someone to tank the boss then I keep rounding up everything else so it can get AoE'd.

If people just kill them instead of trying to pretend they don't exist, there's no problem. It's also extra XP since most people use jobs they're leveling when doing FATEs.

I forgot the name but its in Yanxia, thats a pain cause not only are you fighting the huge Dulahan looking thing but there's its little minions plus the spot is congested with those weird fat head monsters and the fate area is very small so its very hard to run around and not run outside the fate zone while killing the adds and the fighting the boss and dealing with the local spawns that are congested in that one spot. twice it spawned like 3 am in the morning and what little people we could gather was unable to handle the fate monsters plus the local spawns all at once. This particular fate pops at the worst time, Instead of at prime hours when most people are logged n.

Curiosity Killed the Catfish is up fairly often, about every 2-3 hours so if you're missing it at other times of the day it's just bad luck.

It's also not a problem even with a small group if people keep their heads. I've done it with a group of 5 on 2 different occasions. Pull the boss over to the wall instead of keeping it in the middle so there's less to aggro. Have everyone stay fairly close to the boss so if things do get aggro'd they can be quickly pulled to the boss for AoE. Even better if a healer is WHM because they can gather everything up as it spawns then Holy spam (what I do if I'm not tanking for the group).

As for getting people to come, head to the major cities and shout "Curiosity Killed the Catfish FATE Yanxia 16,11 achievement plus DRK glamour weapon". That gets a lot of attention.
