Awkward controls? Super newbie question!

I use al,ost 100% mouse. I got one of those mmo mice with the 12 buttons on the side and don’t think I could play without it as other control schemes just sound super clunky to me. I’ve also tried controller, but just found it irritating and clunky to use and all I wanted to do was just grab my mouse for more fluid control, but tons of people love controller and couldn’t play without it.

What I do is use keyboard to hit the modifier keys (Ctrl, shift, alt) to access all my binds, and WASD to move. I turn with right mouse button and also hold down right mouse button and a or d to strafe so I don’t have to hit different keys for that.

You just have to find what feels the most comfortable for you.
