    A Way to Shorten MSQ

    Implement destination auto-teleport.(Cut out a large portion of travel time)

    During an MSQ which doesn't heavily rely on you physically traveling to the next destination, and if you are not REALLY NEAR the said area, the WoL should be auto-teleported to the next destination(ex. Next NPC you will talk to/area you will collect items/area you can hunt MSQ monsters).

    Exceptions should be traveling to new areas or when sneaking into enemy base(which is supposed to give a sense of challenge)

    This should be implemented up to before the latest expansion.

    If cutting msq quests directly is out of the question, I suggest you think about this as an option.

    If you are suggesting this for all 2.0 MSQ content onward, this would require pruning of every single little quest to date and would be immensely time consuming and resource heavy... and to what end? If you purchased the game only to skip the vast majority of its content then the MSQ skip potion already exists to serve this purpose.

    If you are suggesting this for 5.0 content onwards, then I really don’t understand your suggestion. Why would you want to make once-off content even shorter? Granted, travelling through maps is hardly the most engaging of experiences after you’ve seen your share of the sights and the like, but I don’t really see how fade to black teleporting where I am just thrown immediately from “pick up this, kill that, talk to them” will do anything other than perhaps make the experience even more monotonous.

    Just my perspective though!

    This is something I've advocated for in the past as well. There are far too many instances of "talk to NPC" followed by "talk to same NPC at different location." If the NPC you are currently conversing with is present at the next quest objective, there's not really any reason to not simply move the player there to continue the dialogue.

    I really disliked all the times when NPC is all "Meet me here to discuss this further." C'mon, if we're both going to the same destination, we can both get there together.

    It isn't as time consuming as what other people are suggesting which is to actually cut the non-important parts of the story and make a "shorter version" of the msq. I actually don't want this because the effort put into small dialogues would be put to waste.
    It's certainly worth it considering more than half of the playerbase get sick of the "Report to Waking Sands/Rising Stones" thing. It doesn't cut out any experience other than riding your mount or unneeded sprinting because you can't ride your mount in city-states.
    What about sightseeing? There's gathering and sidequests and a bunch of other doables for that which doesn't slow progression to endgame.

    Or maybe we could make use of those fancy linkshell things they showed off in the ARR MSQ. Instead of doing a 5 minute run just to pass messages between two NPCs, why not just contact them via linkshell?

    Pruning those quests would be nice. There's far too many quests, and frankly a lot of them serve no other purpose other than complete, unnecessary inflammation. But I guess whilst they have the MSQ skip potions this is very improbable.

    Sounds more like suggesting an auto-travel sort of thing present in some single player RPGs than pruning quests.

    They could prune half of the storyline and still have too much. Just give a free 60 and free storyline skip with the next expansion.

    yall do realise linkpearls are easily hacked right, i know its exceptionally annoying to have to go to minfillia to be told good job, but inworld info isnt generally given over linkpearl cause of the threat of garleans, monetarists, spies, whatnot being on the same freuency

    this will not happen, simply put Jump potions. We can only hope that SE will put some effort into branching paths in the future expansions but i'm not going to hold my breath. SE seems to want to be F2P with a bigass store AND sub based. You're getting greedy SE, bring it back to the GAME!
