I agree. It really feels like they save the "meat and potatoes" for the JP Fanfest.

"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.
Basically a glorified wishlist:
New race (Viera or Ronso)
A true Ranger job.
Another dual-wielding DPS job.
FF Type-0 uniforms (All variants).
A magitech hoverboard mount.
Ability to choose front and back hairstyles.
The Antecedent's set to be split into separate pieces.
ALL Mogstation outfit to have separate pieces and be dyeable (If they're not account-wide, there's no excuse).
Have all socks/stockings to cover the feet/No more shoes with socks built in.

If the devs are going to experiment with something again, like what Diadem and Lords of Verminion were for Heavensward and Eureka was for Stormblood, I'd hope this time they revisit Grand Companies and Squadrons. The last two rank-ups didn't really do anything substantial besides raise the GC seal cap.
I'm still hoping that squadrons are leading up to being able to physically lead the whole squad into missions FFT-style while building on GC lore (and of course fighting alongside our squadron members ourselves, there could be different leader-exclusive abilities based on what job we choose to go as), rather than sending them off to do things elsewhere while we continue on like nothing happened.

"Consider this old adage: When a Bard sings alone in a desert, and no one is around to hear him... Is he truly singing?"
Just better not hear that main focus of 5.0 is all in Eureka. Hoping to hear if dancer will be one of next new jobs.
My fan fest wish list is that they would add dancer and that it will be a dps job.
Game Environments:
- An announcement that the Devs will be making strides to find ways of activating many of the empty zones with players... something more exciting than FATES and more like FFXI's Campaign system (using our GC Squadrons as well) will be very welcome.
- A critical look at the feedback from Eureka and redefine how they can make something more enjoyable. I don't mind time sinks but I do mind mindless timesinks that give minimal rewards with appalling RNG rates.
- A heavier hand on banning bots running around the various zones.
Game Mechanics
- A few more tweaks for Black Mage, specifically more spells that can be cast during movement (more on this later).
- The tomes system needs a revamp... the current formular has been in place for the last five years and players are now getting tired of it. A new system that prevents armours from getting obsolete within only a few short months.
- Another idea that I suggested in the past was to add an event that would have players be involved with the Trident... and perhaps helping Merlwyb win her re-elections.
- More aerial battles with the Garlean Empire will be much welcome and 5.0 will be a great time to implement this
- Housing in the aerial zones of Churning Mists... something near Zenith will be nice. I had initially hoped that completing all those Moogle Disciple of Hands rebuilding quests (in Heavensward) would eventually lead to housing in that area.
- New job class... from what I keep seeing on the boards, any new job will be nice.
Game Lore:For now, due to a lack of any direct information regarding Varis' other purported children, I'm just going to use "Larsa" as a placeholder name. See below:
- More on the Raen, their origins, the Yatsurugi clan... yes, I'm a Raen Au'ra and this is shameless promotion for the Auri race.
- More on the Mitsurugi clan in Kugane and their Emperor Reigen.
- More on Ishgard politics and social reformation, Estinen's whereabouts (endgame, I see him developing a new Heavensward)
- More on the everything to do with lore (yes, I know I sound vague but I'm rushing to post this and go run some errands). The Volume Two lore book is greatly anticipated and thanks again for compiling it... can't wait to see the brilliance within.
- And finally more on the Garlean Imperial family, Varis' other children, his relatives, other scheming royals etc etc. In fact, for emphasis my Brit wit got the better of me and decided to have a few laughs-- I went ahead and made a couple quick speculative sketches regarding the possible reveal of a sibling to Zenos (brother or sister?)... I might even eventually turn this into a short series if I have enough free time.

My wish list (given that the game's basic treadmill structure is not going to change):
- Expansion of the treasure hunt system to spawn boss-type NMs that require parties WITH PRACTICE to defeat. (We need more content like this to give FCs some kind of value.)
- Blending concepts from Eureka -- such as the difficulty of moving around -- with the general open world.
- The ability to enter instanced dungeons (not through the DF) to hunt NMs. (More FC-friendly content, and also breathes new life into old, stagnant content.)
- A reduction of iLevel increases between updates, so that gear sets aren't so massively obsoleted with each step. (Players will still chase incrementally more powerful gear.)
- More four-man EX battles like Rath Ex.
Basically, what this game really needs is to breathe some life into non-static, small- or variable-sized group play. This game offers painfully little content for FCs, and that's a shame. Guilds/linkshells/groups are the backbones of MMOs.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.
