You hit the Nail on the headI sort of agree with both posts to an extent. Yes, leveling up is AIDS from any point, especially as DPS.
On the other hand, I also see the point of starting at level 1 and working towards max from there. Starting at level 30 or especially level 50 dumps all of the skills of the job up to that level on you all at once. Starting at level 1 though, and working your way up, you benefit from the learning curve of the job that moves forward at the same pace as your character's level, giving you a better understanding of how the job works at a more reasonable pace (in fact you could probably attribute at least some of that to why there were so many SAMs that only use Midare). At least, I would prefer that than having the finished job and all it's skills dumped on you all at once and going 'here, figure it out'. Call me old fashioned. I just makes me feel like I bought a jump potion for a job I don't know how to play yet. I distinctly remember back in ARR that a common complaint were people that didn't know how to play their jobs because they had FATE grinded all the way to 50 and immediately jumped into endgame content.
Starting at 1 will do no good in a game that already has a quick-level system (PotD/HoH). You're still going to get the majority of folks spamming it for quick levels, and although it's good for learning what your skills do, it's not going to help learn how to play them or with rotations in a "traditional setting, where roles are required". Sure, you can say you'll do it the "right way" by going through dungeons, but nothing's stopping you from doing that currently. Go run all of the dungeons in sequence. Spam them if you like. You'd be doing that exact thing if you started from 1; the only difference is that now you'll be synced, but that doesn't change anything.
Unless there was some other meaningful way to level classes, this really does no good and just inflicts nonsense on people who already have an idea of what they're doing and don't want to be relegated to level 1 to grind the same stuff, over and over again. They're not going to give us another MSQ to cut our teeth on. Most games don't have this problem because you can only play one class, and I'd rather see FFXIV keep the multi-job system & just let us level them in the way we want instead of scrap it so that we're just using MSQ for our single class.

If you don't want to level grind, there's a super cool item that circumvents 90% of it.Starting at 1 will do no good in a game that already has a quick-level system (PotD/HoH). Joking aside, I already gave my entirely sound reasoning for wanting to level from scratch. For the record though
PotD/HoH isnt nearly as fast as you think it is, at least not before 50. Clearly you'd rather have it handed to you on a plate. So let's agree to disagree.
I get what the OP is talking about. Some of us enjoy watching our play style evolve and change as the character progresses. Indeed, when picking up something that's very different from our main, we prefer having only a handful of skills starting out because it let's us master those before getting overwhelmed by ALL THE BUTTONS
I'm so glad you know exactly how I feel. I actually get very bored in PotD and I do most of my levelling through roulettes and helping FC mates through dungeons. I just so happen to enjoy being handed a class that has more to do than spam three buttons for 20 levels. If you don't want to level grind, there's a super cool item that circumvents 90% of it.

Ad hominem attacks followed by "let's just agree to disagree" will not win you the final word, however much you may want it to.
Drop the petty passive aggression. That wasnt my intent.I'm so glad you know exactly how I feel. I said let's agree to disagree because it's clear we're not going to see eye to eye on this. You can have the "final word", I'm not going to argue with you.
I'm not asking for it to be implemented, but I also do like starting a class from 1 to max, learning new skills every x level, finding out their efficiency, new rotation ...
I just like leveling in general.
But you will be able to level up in 5.0 they’re gonna raise the level cap right?
i know that this person wants the new jobs to start from level 1 but I had to say that.
I'm going to be honest with you: I would much rather jump into an Alliance Raid right out the gate with a new job instead of mashing two or three buttons for 20+ levels just because.
The way the pattern is progressing you will most likely start 5.0 jobs at level 60 with the cap Being 75But Still many are Responding with the point of me saying the choice to start at level 1 be optional I'm not asking for anyone to be forced to level up from 1
