5.0 is on the Horizon so Surely new jobs are expected as well But my gripe comes with the level we start these new jobs at. Nin entered ARR essentially as a Rogue at lvl10 (40 lvls below Max) HW introduced Drk, Ast and Mch Lvl30 (30 Below) and Sb Brought Rdm And Sam at Lvl50(20 lvls Below Max). Why cant we have the option to start new jobs at level 1? It would repopulate pve areas, Lower level dungeons outside of roulettes, make squadrons and your chocobo useful again, add more job quest and could even coincide with the much talked about ability to replay msq and instances.
Some naysayers will counter with I just wanna play the new jobs in new content... Yeah but then what? You Maxed Out In 2 to 3 days, threw on your highest gear from a similar role and now your back into the endgame grind of completing weekly's and complaining about having no content do untill the next patch releases. Its may not be for everyone but let me level up
So what's to stop you from sticking to low level FATEs then moving into leves, guildhests and low level dungeons so you can replicate a lower level experience? That's how you'd be leveing an alt job if you were starting from level 1, correct? The most you'd be missing out on would be a handful of job quests that don't exist for jobs that start at a higher level.

Don't get me wrong, personally I enjoy leveling and take my time doing it but the tools exist for you to accomplish what you want. You're the one choosing not to make use of them.

When Sb Came out Coerthas Was Alive Again, The Market boards Lower level Gear was selling, PvE Areas Were no longer virtually A wasteland. When you Level Sync Down Your a Big Fish trapped in A Small Pond. It feels forced but When Your Actually The Current Level of the dungeon or instance the feel is Different that's why I said make the choice a option.

Starting at 1 will do no good in a game that already has a quick-level system (PotD/HoH). You're still going to get the majority of folks spamming it for quick levels, and although it's good for learning what your skills do, it's not going to help learn how to play them or with rotations in a "traditional setting, where roles are required". Sure, you can say you'll do it the "right way" by going through dungeons, but nothing's stopping you from doing that currently. Go run all of the dungeons in sequence. Spam them if you like. You'd be doing that exact thing if you started from 1; the only difference is that now you'll be synced, but that doesn't change anything.

Unless there was some other meaningful way to level classes, this really does no good and just inflicts nonsense on people who already have an idea of what they're doing and don't want to be relegated to level 1 to grind the same stuff, over and over again. They're not going to give us another MSQ to cut our teeth on. Most games don't have this problem because you can only play one class, and I'd rather see FFXIV keep the multi-job system & just let us level them in the way we want instead of scrap it so that we're just using MSQ for our single class.

If you don't want to level grind, there's a super cool item that circumvents 90% of it.

Joking aside, I already gave my entirely sound reasoning for wanting to level from scratch. For the record though
PotD/HoH isnt nearly as fast as you think it is, at least not before 50. Clearly you'd rather have it handed to you on a plate. So let's agree to disagree.

I'm so glad you know exactly how I feel. I actually get very bored in PotD and I do most of my levelling through roulettes and helping FC mates through dungeons. I just so happen to enjoy being handed a class that has more to do than spam three buttons for 20 levels.

Ad hominem attacks followed by "let's just agree to disagree" will not win you the final word, however much you may want it to.

Drop the petty passive aggression. That wasnt my intent.
I said let's agree to disagree because it's clear we're not going to see eye to eye on this. You can have the "final word", I'm not going to argue with you.

I get what the OP is talking about. Some of us enjoy watching our play style evolve and change as the character progresses. Indeed, when picking up something that's very different from our main, we prefer having only a handful of skills starting out because it let's us master those before getting overwhelmed by ALL THE BUTTONS

I'm not asking for it to be implemented, but I also do like starting a class from 1 to max, learning new skills every x level, finding out their efficiency, new rotation ...
I just like leveling in general.

I'm going to be honest with you: I would much rather jump into an Alliance Raid right out the gate with a new job instead of mashing two or three buttons for 20+ levels just because.

I mean, I just took RDM for a solo spin on PotD, to learn how the spells and skills come up each levels and it was enough to get a good grasp on it. Same with SAM, more or less.
