Ingame equipment encylopedia?

Hello,

So, I've been playing FF XIV for many years now and as more equipment gets added with new expacs and patches, I've started to wonder why somekind of interactive(interactive as in I can try them on, dye preview them, see where they drop) equipment encyclopedia doesn't exist ingame? I get it that there is the eorzea database on the lodestone, but I'm thinking more of a hands on approach would be better. Many MMO's have started to adopt this, ESO being a good example and I think FF XIV would benefit from this the most considering how much awesome looking gear exists ingame, would really help with discovering what actual gear is out there, even today I still find out about new gear that has actually existed for years, but have found out about only recently because I met this one rare individual from a completely different server who just so happened to be wearing it inside a dungeon.

EDIT: In hindsight, this would benefit console players A LOT, seeing as eorzea database doesn't exist for them unless they have a PC or their Phone in hands reach.
