wouldn't hurt though. its prob part of the reason people feel needed to gather in uldh. i wouldn't wait in grid if i wanted an xp party.Ehh, it's probably not necessary to have a 'World Chat' option. Most anything that would be said in it for grouping and leveling purposes can be put in your 'search' options already. It would be nice if the next thing SE gave us was a way to post a 'looking for a crafter or buying/selling' message in our search as well. (Meaning, just make search even more useful).
But a chat log that can just be spammed with useless crap all day, that you feel you need to keep on for that one nugget of gold that happens every 3 hours or so?...nah, better ways to accomplish the same goal.
I get more random invites just doing my own thing (leves etc) than by standing around in Uldah. I don't even have my party flag up, people just see that I'm the correct class etc and send a tell. My point is the only reason people wait in Uldah for an exp party is because the community in general is still slow to use the search function. We have an effective tool for grouping people already don't use...we don't need a 'world spam chat' to make the situation even worse.
Don't get me wrong, I know that a lot of people still don't seem to use the search/looking for party function, but it's there AND it works. So if the only reason you would like 'World Chat' is for grouping, we already have an effective world system for partying... however, SE can't force the player base to be smart and use it.
if you wanted an xp party, you'd put your party flag up. Seriously, people have been crying for SE to implement the system, yet there are too few people who actually use it.
So what's next, implementing a world chat no one really needs only for it to be spammed by RMT? (Thanks for the offer, but I have to pass.)

i had my flag up and still saw shouts for party, don't knw why people would be against world chat(unless you couldn't turn it off) anyways i don't need xp party's i was being nice and thinking of others who might.if you wanted an xp party, you'd put your party flag up. Seriously, people have been crying for SE to implement the system and after they did everyone barely ever use it.

Ok, let me re-phrase that, those who want an xp party shouldn't shout but use the search function (and set their flags). Yet people still continue to do so, so you will still hang out in uldah instead of being productive somewhere else.
World chat might solve that but then you will have a higher possibility of RMT spamming it. Zone chat is a nice compromise enabling you to reach more people than with /say but not enough for the RMT to start (ab)using it to advertise.

I still run into people who do not know how to use the search functionality or how to set their status to seek.Ok, let me re-phrase that, those who want an xp party shouldn't shout but use the search function (and set their flags). A lot of people actually.
And it is not very intuitive to those who do not already know.
And even so, still seems to not be as effective as shouting.
Nothing is intuitive with SE, but people should explore the UI a bit more. I had little problems figuring it out and i'm not some genius, just an ordinary player.
Only because people are not using the system. And even so, still seems to not be as effective as shouting.
