    Why we don't have global chat channels is still a head scratcher to me.

    I wanted to have /shout being world chat at the start of the game, but now I'm satisfied with it being a zone chat instead. Helps to reduce spam for one.

    Even though we have the 2 party search systems, people are still shouting for parties - let them, but limit it to a zone, i.e. ul'dah.
