World shell

Ok this is just an idea really and may not be wanted by many or anyone really but i not alot time to join linkshells for a fair few reasons but i do like what they do in game by bringing the community together.
So maybe some sort of world shell where as you can enter which language use you want for it and have the communications work exactly like a linkshell but it be on a more bigger scale , just an idea and there sure to be a few problems with this idea.

Of course i would want this with linkshell still being there as well.

well have a shell and have communications work like a linkshell but the whole world has access to it but you can filter out by language so you dont get all communications from japanese if you dont understand a word of it.

You mean a world chat?
I'm not really sure I like that idea, people will keep spamming it with diverse comments (party looking for members, people looking for party, people looking for crafters, people begging for gil, RMT advertisement, etc). It will be a big pot of nonsense very difficult to follow, then thousands time worse than shouts in Uld'ah at peak hours.

I'm not supporting this idea right now, I fail to see its usefulness.
I'd rather have billboards in town where you can post some notes:
- Crafter looking work, contact XYZ
- Super party to kill NM at [time] on [day], everyone welcomed!
- Linkshell ABC recruiting! Contact XYZ for an invitation.
- etc.

Even then, it would be a real mess to manage properly.

Please, develop your idea of the world chat, how would it be useful? ...without being a pain for everyone's chat log?

yeah a world chat of sorts , though i did say in post there might be problems with it.
Another idea could be a linkshell for linkshells , so that more than one linkshell falls under the chat but these just ideas and i do worry about rmt and also other bad problems players bring up, i just trying think what is good way to bring community of a world together.
There may be say 5 different linkshells on one world but why not a chance for them all to communicate between each other.
The world chat type idea, i suggested it because like i said some people cant commit to linkshells but still like the community.

I wanted to have /shout being world chat at the start of the game, but now I'm satisfied with it being a zone chat instead. Helps to reduce spam for one.

Even though we have the 2 party search systems, people are still shouting for parties - let them, but limit it to a zone, i.e. ul'dah.

Ehh, it's probably not necessary to have a 'World Chat' option. Most anything that would be said in it for grouping and leveling purposes can be put in your 'search' options already. It would be nice if the next thing SE gave us was a way to post a 'looking for a crafter or buying/selling' message in our search as well. (Meaning, just make search even more useful).

But a chat log that can just be spammed with useless crap all day, that you feel you need to keep on for that one nugget of gold that happens every 3 hours or so?...nah, better ways to accomplish the same goal.
