I wish they would give us 3 separate categories - eyeshadow, blush and misc. facepaint. I would also vote moving freckles into the facial features. Maybe add more freckle patterns as well. :X

God yes... Especially on the races that don't have the option for eyeshadow under racial features. Sadly whenever stuff like separate or new categories are asked for in the CC, they always say it isn't possible to change though I forget their listed reasoning for why that was.

Adding anything meaningful will result in...God yes... Especially on the races that don't have the option for eyeshadow under racial features. I would also like to see more options, I have noticed when loading saved character data while starting a new character, if you have any new hairstyles saved on character data your loading, you get an error saying something like "aesthetician exclusive hairstyles and facepaints can't be used, reverting to default" which always seemed odd since there isn't any exclusive facepaints from the aesthetician, yet?

It would be to do with how the game reads the data and displays the character. Everything is programmed to expect data in a certain form. If you add more information, you have to change every part of the programming that reads that information.
More appearance data per character also means more data needing to be sent to (and received from) every other player in the area.
I think there's one from a past seasonal event. I noticed at All Saints' Wake that some of the NPCs had a spiderweb facepaint design, so that might be it.I have noticed when loading saved character data while starting a new character, if you have any new hairstyles saved on character data your loading, you get an error saying something like "aesthetician exclusive hairstyles and facepaints can't be used, reverting to default" which always seemed odd since there isn't any exclusive facepaints from the aesthetician, yet?

This idea is really great! If we could have the face paint categorized and separated into different aesthetication tab(?) sections like the other features (eyebrows, lipstick, etc) it would make the aesthetication so much more fun!
I don't how much time it would take to have to changing all of the programming to have an extra said of tabs to separate and allow us the use of multiple face paint features in the game, but it would probably be worth the effort if it was at least slowly worked on over time through patches. That way it doesn't cut into any other works in the making/updates in FFXIV.It would be to do with how the game reads the data and displays the character.
