And read what Micah wrote there - they arent asking you to "pick up after them", theyre telling you they will leave you behind and let you die if you dont keep up. Im normally a DPS. Given the choice of following the slow tank or the fast healer, im with the healer - theyre the one who'll be keeping me alive after all.
It depends if the healer is good enough to heal the dungeon without said tank. When it comes to leveling dungeons, I've been in instances where the tank left, and the healer was decently geared, but couldn't keep the party alive because I think that person couldn't press buttons enough to keep the dps and his/her self up. Some instances are when Titan-Egi was tanking and still the healer couldn't keep it up.

I've seen a lot of terrible or mediocre healers that I've been healing most of my Expert Roulettes almost as much as I tank them.

I'm running at a chill pace. I get you to the end, that's all that matters.

Cases in point Dzemael Darkhold and Aurum Vale.

    More haste, less speed.
Except why do you get to dictate the pace if everyone else wants to go faster? It's one thing if you're new or admit you lack experience with huge pulls, thus are a bit nervous to try. It's another thing entirely if you simply puff your chest and demand three players "deal with" you wanting to run at a "chill pace." They have just as much a right to puff their chests back.

It's not "all that matters." Service at a restaurant 20 minutes later than normal is not the same service. Getting your car back from the shop a week later than expected is not the same service. Three peoples' efficiency being sunk well below the average and/or their time being held hostage over the fourth's "difference in playstyle" is not just a matter of "getting to the end". It's rude, arrogant, and self-centered. Overperformance does not hurt others' play or waste their time. Unintential underperformance is generally forgivable except where symptomatic of intentional negligence. Purposely treating a run as a scenic haunted house ride when everyone else wants to enjoy it an altogether different way, and then treating them as trash for attempting to have a real say in the process (e.g. pulling the remainder of the normal pull size for you) is not.

You're making yourself out to be exactly that stubborn and egotistic tank the above posts were just referring to. Do you need a bigger shovel for your hole?

I agree that there are some awful healers roaming the DF. There are equally bad tanks, and there are DPS who barely pull auto-attack damage. The venn diagram of healers who mostly clear runs via luck and healers who will run ahead of a slow tank certainly has some overlap. But that second circle also has a lot of the super-competent healers that can take the worst run and salvage it. I said id follow the healer. If theyre not up to the task then whats the worst that can happen? I die and maybe someone gets upset enough to break up the group? Someone i dont know or care about maybe blacklists me?
