The problem is the massive spike in game difficulty between silver and gold. Last season I had to start from 0 because I hadn't played in a while and Q'd NIN/AST straight to Plat with a 70% w/r then got absolutely smashed in plat games because I was still basically a Silver melee at best. Best way to progress is just to spam games, spend a few seasons getting thoroughly owned and you'll soon learn from your mistakes. I mean there's a certain healer I cannot name but she was pretty inexperienced, but got to plat by playing a lot of games a couple of seasons back, and it was difficult to win not because she was bad, but because she would be against Diamond Healers who could handle predicting burst and healing through high CT better than she could. Now she's pretty much top 10 material just through playing loads and not making the same mistakes twice.
