I have found pyros more like anemos - a brick wall to break through, but plenty of action going on like fates, etc. The logos system is also interesting (though very clunky using a controller). It's also more solo-friendly due to the logos buffs. It's nice to be a RDM with tank HP/def, I've certainly wished for that on occassion lol.

my only conern so far is the dirth of cystals, not far off EL40 and I only have 21. I'll hope they are more abundant as I go forward.

I'm of the belief that they should NOT have logograms as tradable items, because it's already hard enough to farm them and the last thing we need are bots and people who don't actually need them anymore hogging the few decent spots for killing sprites.

I just went in for the first time and it wasn't all bad. (nice the bunny fates give EXP) The mob density is a bit high in some areas and I'm not a fan of the chamber of "you need to RP walk or you die" on the north end. People hated the dragons in Pagos since they where little more than a speed bump, but this is ridiculous.

i was a bit iffy on the logos actions but i cant deny that they are super usefull and have saved me more than once overall the only gripe i have is sum areas there are to many enemies clustered together though its overall better than pagos.

I actually like Pyros. Definitely an improvement. I've been in there only 3 times and am barely level 40, but leveling is way faster. My only gripe is that I only have 1 Pagos weapon (Machinist) which I got the week prior to Pyros opening up and saw what the finish Red Mage weapon looks like and it is sweet. That means I would have to go back to Pagos and do it all over again for another weapon. D'oh!!!

That's the thing with Pagos. Just when you think you're done with her, she pulls you back in. You cannot leave, She won't let you!

I feel like if Eureka: Anemos released with some of what Pagos eventually added (adaptations, bunnies, and warped-lockboxes) and some of what Pyros added (a few of the simpler Logos actions), and then built upon those systems with each new area, Eureka would have been far better received at its launch. Because Pyros, thus far, is easily the best of the three, having built upon and refined each of the systems from both Pagos and Anemos. NM spawn rates are comparable to Anemos, and leveling feels faster than Anemos, too. The adaptation and mutation system makes a return from Pagos, but the exp rewards for them, as well as the Logogram drops, make the system feel much more satisfying to take advantage of. The spider-web styled map of Pyros is much easier to navigate than Pagos, as well as being much more stealth-friendly than Anemos, although you still need to be careful of sound and true-sight based enemies in the higher level areas. And the bunny FATEs are back, but with more meaningful rewards for getting a treasure chest (ie. logograms), as well as a small amount of exp, tomes, and occasionally crystals for participating. No matter what I choose to participate in (NMs, bunnies, soloing, chaining) I feel like I'm making headway in multiple areas (leveling, Logos, or gear), which is just good design. And the various logos combinations add just enough variety to how--and what--I can fight that I'm excited to try out new combinations, even if some of them are just for fun (such as Watcher + Haymaker for evasion tanking, haha!). Heck, just as an example, I recently figured out how to create Bloodbath, so next time I go in I'm going to try fighting higher-level sprites on my Warrior with Bloodbath + Martialist, and see how well I can farm some logograms from them. And that's the sort of experimentation that you don't have in the rest of the game, which should have been the draw of Eureka from the beginning!

tl;dr, Pyros is really good. I'm not at 50 yet, and it seems like that will be the big time-sink, but at least the road from 35-50 is much more fun, and the Logos actions definitely help to spice things up in both solo play and party play.

This will only really be an issue for people rushing through quickly. Once the "critical mass" starts farming and selling logograms, the prices will drop to a stable point and less people will farm them because it won't be as profitable, which should keep farming spots at least somewhat open. This is overall just a design flaw with Eureka as a whole, though; mob tag competition is dumb and shouldn't be in here.

After giving it a few hours I gotta say: I'm not a big fan. There's too many mobs to even try to sneak around, the bridges always have mobs on them and there's a massive room you need to RP walk to not aggro the mobs in. It feels like no one will rez people half the time and no one offers rides for lowbies and all NMs in instantly pulled. I can't get to anything to level up, even the mid map bunny fate is a challenge sometimes. I guess I need to wait until my IRL friend hits 50; because at this point I'd just give up if I were alone.

I think Pyros is quite a good piece of content for many reasons: the leveling experience is relatively fast due to generous NM payouts; it has a variety of nice rewards at different levels of rarity; the logos system is a nice new layer to the gameplay. However this type of content needs a lot of teamwork and that's where I feel the slipping standard of the community is ruining the game. I felt sick today seeing a lot of casual harassment in Pyros chat. It's gotten to the point that people let each other die on purpose and then laugh at the dead people, refuse to resurrect them, call them idiots for dying, call them entitled for asking for a res, etc. That sort of thing is happening all the time now and it has become accepted behavior.

Of course there are pockets of friendly and helpful people in FCs and such, but the general community when you get a lot of people together in one place is very chaotic, disrespectful and hateful, like the darkest corners of the internet. Things have changed a lot since the strong community bonds of FF XI's heyday. At least that's my experience on Chaos datacenter. I still like FF XIV, if I can separate the game part of it from the players who populate it. The way I feel now is maybe I should just filter my chat more and not even read the venom in /shout chat most of the time. There are certain types of content I don't even enter due to the expectation that people will rage, harass, troll or whatever. I have to keep cutting things off or turning a blind eye for this online gaming stuff to still be enjoyable.
