A few things on BLM. In a combo Thundara doesn't have cast time reduced. Thundara already has no cast time. Just a damage increase. Also, while it may not be a combo, Flare is worth a mention.

Flare is indeed worth mentioning... and I'll edit the OP with the info about Thundara
I knew they were in the .dats... I didn't know they were definitely the BLM spells coming...
Well there you have it.... nice

Someone should make a poll asking what jobs people are most excited for. Be interesting to see what the flavor of the month is when the game comes out.
Except the Flavor of the Month classes we've been seeing with each patch were due to the content and the bandwagon strategies and not peoples favorites. If that were the case we'd see much more PGL than we have in a long while.
On that note, I honestly suspect MNK will be quite popular with 1.21 in most, if not all, content including the ones we have now.
You can use both War Drum and Phalanx after 1 block. Since you used phalanx, you can then combo into the PLD WSPaladin:
Paladin gets a weaponskill that combos off of Phalanx. Phalanx can only be used after a block
On NM's like Ifrit, block rates are really low.... So we use Aegis boon to guarantee a block so we can use War drum which does little damage but generates tons of enmity.
If this new PLD weaponskill is awesome.. then I guess Aegis Boon isn't just for War drum anymore.
Thats sadly filled with boatloads of veracity.Except the Flavor of the Month classes we've been seeing with each patch were due to the content and the bandwagon strategies and not peoples favorites. If that were the case we'd see much more PGL than we have in a long while.

new battle suggestion thread
would have to happen to ensure that class stacking wasn't the easy way out...
There have actually been many suggestions going around to make sure class stacking (Henceforth known as "Job stacking") doesn't continue
Can you? I never really tried because I tried using both Marauder abilities after a parry and I am never able to get the second one off.... Could be a latency issue... or quite possibly that I'm not fast enough....
The cure to class-stacking, if such a thing may even exist, would dawn from the open-mindedness and willingness of the community to try different things rather than see what team the First Win consisted of and copy it.
The key is the chatlog. Check for the log to tell you you blocked/parried/evaded and start your reactions immediately after. If you wait for the animation you've wasted precious time as the entire window is only 3s.

Aegis boon only gives you HP back from blocking, not raise block rate. Outmaneuver is the skill you're looking for.
When fighting Ifrit, I seemed to get a decent amount of blocks in, so I guess it just has to do with your shield's block rate + Outmaneuver.
I do have a question though, since I never figured out how Spirits Within worked reliably in XI. Does it do more damage with higher HP or lower HP?
