    DRG Stat order

Hello! just hit 70 with my DRG and looking to slot, but im not entirely sure what my focus should be. I feel crit is great followed by DH, but ive seen alot of comments about how DH is better than crit so that leads me to think DH over crit or they are the same pretty much. Any help is apperciated!

Now, I believe stat priority for DRG is Crit > D.Hit > Det. Because of Crit scaling this tier, Crit has surpassed D.Hit on most jobs now.

Crit being preferred has been a thing pretty much since Delta's ilvl. DH was never king and I hope that meme never shows its face again.

From what I’ve always understood, it was at least competitive in Deltascape for most jobs, and then Crit began to pull ahead in Sigmascape, and now Crit is the highest priority substat for all jobs once again, just as it was at the end of Heavensward. That is what has always been repeated to me when I have asked; I never claimed D.Hit was “king”, simply that Crit is now inherently better now where as before, it was always my understanding that on most jobs, taking D.Hit over Crit was not a substantial loss (save for the weird jobs like BRD).

But I’m not a theorycrafter, so I guess what I know doesn’t hold much weight.

Apologies if it seemed that I was implying you had, it was more a general grumble over having to undo the harm that one reddit thread did before we from TJ were ready to post our final findings. It lead to months of misinformation that took a long time to address and resolve, which is why many players often repeated things along that line.

While true things were closer, crit biased sets in Delta were generally all ahead for dps (barring sps/sks biased jobs like blm/sam) even before the presence of any form of crit synergy from other party members. I still have all the caster BiS lists I made for 4.0 and while they were not the highest possible crit value you could get (due to crit/sps on one helm option simming lower than the alternative entirely due to the sps), crit was still the majority stat for rdm and smn.

@ Strykr512 here are the two BiS sets for DRG in 4.4:

    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/175G9
    (High Crit; 2.45 GCD)

    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/17IJT
    (High SkS; 2.19 GCD)

    To quote Fueisu:
Both sets are very similar in DPS under Evie's rotation sim, go for whichever you want, Crit set is the comfy goon you known and loved, SkS lets you go fast while also a good choice if you couldn't double weave due to ping.
Ideally aim for one style of set (slow or fast), however once you've hit your target GCD the substat priority will be Crit > Direct Hit > Determination.
