People Who Scam Others

Okay so something that has been annoying me for a while, Is people who scam other players, I come on FF14 to have fun and not ruin the game for other people, which is what these other players actually set out to do.

Well recently on the Zodiark Server there has been a huge issue with a certain person or small group of people. Who have been scamming new players, and other less experienced players.

Now I know for a fact a number of people have had items taken, and gil taken. Well this one certain individual has been going around bragging about "Stealing" (he himself calls it stealing) from other people and telling people what he has been spending their gil on, and he is so not bothered by his actions that he is telling the person he took the gil off of what he spent it on, and what he has done with the items / item.

I mean surly this is against TOS and surly Square Enix should be able to do something especially since he is boasting about it so confidently.

Could you describe how exactly he scams them? From my knowledge you can't lose anything you dont put in a trade window or company chest (the latter shouldnt even be accessible that easily).

if he is making deals with people via some chat method then not following through with his side of the bargain, he can be reported.

Yes he is basically making deals with people and then not following them through on his side. Which does actually class as scamming Reinhardt, it comes under a player agreement, and yes he is making them in game in traceable chats.

Basically if I said to you Reinhardt you provide the mats and I will make the item for you - you then provided the mats - but I never made the item and instead I sell the mats and put you on blacklist - That's a scam.

Also I don't know 100% whats happening with this player / players and a number of FC's on the Zodiark server - I am only aware of the ongoing scam that is happening with this player / players making deals and not following them through - But i know there is something happening with a number of FC's and this player / players,

I know quite a few people who have reported this player / players, but they have not gotten their items back, which is one of the main issues, the other main issue is that the player / players is constantly in limsa lominsa broadcasting in yell who he has scammed that day and what he has done with their items or gil.

I mean how long does it take to get someone like this banned, especially because he is admitting to doing the things he has done, and then broadcasting it in YELL and basically rubbing the noses of the people he scammed in the fact he scammed them.

If that player made any agreements in in-game chat, or made any statement in in-game chat confirming that they took gil from someone who had the expectation of getting a specific thing from them in exchange for said gil that was not delivered, then the person scammed can report them and the gm's will act on it. Just make sure you've got timestamped screenshots so you can let the gm know exactly when the conversation and trade occurred.

Any agreement between players that isn't respected from one part can be reported.

A lot of people have been reporting it - and even the people who's FC's have been effected. . . I just believe that people should get their stuff back . . . instead of losing that stuff. I have passed the information on aswell . . . Like take screenshots of everything said. . . keep times and dates. . . but still its a salty pill to swallow when regardless of it all you cant get your items or gil back.

Obviously I can not give examples or give in depth details of what has gone on - Because then I would be pointing fingers - but I think all in all anyone who is scammed - needs to be given their stuff back.
