    Recurring Launcher Issues

After years of not having issues with game nor launcher I suddenly have issues logging in via the launcher. Everything shows up fine EXCEPT the login section (so no fields for username, password, 1-time password or login button).

In some instances nothing further happens. Sometimes it quits giving me the HTTPS error (-2146697211), other times it gives me HTTPS error (7).

So far I've tried the following:
    Reinstalling
Making sure drivers are up to date
    Flushing DNS
    Reconfiguring IP
Adding the gateway sites to Firewall
Turning Firewall off (this includes windows defender)
    Turning Virusscanner off
    Portforwarding
    Deleting the Remnant Patch files

    Now here's a funny one.
***Deleting the FFXIVboot.CFG allows me to log back in and play but when I exit the game the problem reoccurs unless I delete that file AGAIN.

As a result I've tried the Browser version type line (I've set it to 0,1,2,3; no result)

I wouldn't for the life of me know any more possible solutions for a problem that occurs with a 1kb file preventing me from logging in from the launcher. Note That this problem does not occur on any FF-website, and I can log in normally (albeit once) upon deletion of the boot-file so I would say the problem lies somewhere in that file.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

I am sorry to hear that you are having bad connection issues. I am going to go ahead and suggest you try the following:

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    - Reset the router

    Hope to see you online!
