How on Earth did I get access to red scrips??

I went all the way with my red-scrip farming with great joy, reaching level 70 in goldsmithing in the process and learning master recipes but... I can't for the life of me remember what enabled me to submit collectable items to the Rowena NPC.

Can someone please remind me how I possibly did it? I'm gonna level Culinarian soon with an alt and I don't wanna be lost when the time comes that I have to gain access to red scrips for him.

And another question... Is it gonna be the same process for gathering scrips? My alt is max level miner and botanist and I wanna be able to have her access all those special nodes.

There's a quest in Ishgard for crafters or gatherers to head to Rev Toll, and that brings in Collectibles. And then another quest from Rev Toll leads to Idyllshire, and... maybe that has something to do with the scrips or at least unlocking the vendors? It's been a few years for me as well.

I'm fairly certain that unlocking collectibles (the things that earn you scripts) is by character, not job. So you only need to do the quest once. I barely remembered the quest to unlock them but being an omnicrafter who leveled almost all the DoH/DoL simultaneously, I'm pretty sure that doing the same unlock quest over and over and over in one go would have stuck in my memory. If I'm wrong, then you just need to check Revenant's Toll for the quest from the femroe by the tent next to the poetics vendors' stall, right up the hill from the Aetheryte. If I recall correctly, the quests in Foundation and Idyllshire are breadcrumbs to lead you there if you don't find the quest on your own.

There are two ways for you to obtain them.

1. Collectibles. You must buy the HQ items and craft to the amount needed for the script appraiser to receive. Or the NPC beside her.

2. Custom deliveries.

Gotta love the amount of guessing and telling how to obtain the scrips after unlocking, heh. It's quest Inscrutable Tastes in Foundation, you'll pass by it since it needs some MSQ there done. It has the plus icon as well, just talk to couple people so not memorable. I do also recommend just googling quick unlocks, since it's much faster and less "if I remember right".
