I havent played it for five years.
I played for a few months at launch, and took a hiatus till recently when some friends started playing. For all intents and purposes im completely new.
The only thing I ever used PotD for when leveling my classes, was if I needed a SLIVER of EXP to get to the next level, then I would run a quick 10 floors. Otherwise, all Challenge Log, Roulettes, daily hunts, and running the highest leveled dungeon I had unlocked(not only does it give best EXP outside a roulette, it gives possibly better gear than what you are wearing/GC seals to buy gear/materials/etc)

Don't just spam PoTD constantly or you're going to go insane. Do your roulettes and then hit up the highest level dungeon you can while doing fates waiting for the queue.

This is extremely great advice here to the OP... your level of sanity diminishes each time you run PoTD or HoH.
Have fun going through the several other elements of the game... there is a wealth of things to do.
You do realize you can do levequests to level up as well?It is so profoundly stupid that I can only level one class by questing, and that's if I do the MSQ with it. Side quests do not give enough experience to level, even when combined with hunting logs, which also give a pointless about of experience.
The fact I am FORCED to use palace of the dead to level any class other than my first is just stupid. To get to level 50, it's over a hundred runs of palace. How do you expect people to do that and not get burnt out?
