Leveling is stupid.

It is so profoundly stupid that I can only level one class by questing, and that's if I do the MSQ with it. Side quests do not give enough experience to level, even when combined with hunting logs, which also give a pointless about of experience.

The fact I am FORCED to use palace of the dead to level any class other than my first is just stupid. To get to level 50, it's over a hundred runs of palace. How do you expect people to do that and not get burnt out?

Dungeons (including daily duty roulettes), FATEs, challenge logs, levequests (those these aren't available in Stormblood areas, and are also best reserved for crafters/gatherers). There are more ways than that to level. POTD is just considered the easiest/most efficient way (well, the latter is for DPS only really) to level. Get in an FC that uses the increased XP buff to make it shorter work. If you're forcing yourself into POTD only and getting burned out, I'll be brutally honest and say that's on you. The game however does NOT force you.

The key is pacing yourself. Set goals and take a pause to do something else. Right now I'm working on all my crafters and during the ixali beast tribe (1-50) I took a few days off from it here and there. It's took longer as a result yes, but I avoided burning out.

As for combat classes, there are other options than Palace. Daily beast tribes give good experiance and you can do some dungeon roulettes as well. Getting to 50 can be fairly easy.

I didn't find it hard to level all my jobs to level 70. I just got some help from members in my fc with it. Found best way to level job classes is palace of the dead and heaven on high. Also do the weekly challenge log and msq roulette they both give great exp.

Unfortunate th ing about roulettes is I'm leveling a black mage, as it's what I enjoy most so far, so the queue times can be a bit...super dumb. Being new to the game I'm also lacking an FC.

I'm sorry to hear this game is FORCING you to do things you hate. It's so stupid and unfair. It's also very regretful that you still haven't received a single invite from any fc to join, simply because you're a new player. It's very rude and dumb indeed.

With an alternate character I hit level 60+ with MSQ, SQ and the daylie Roulette before I even reach the Castrum Meridianum in the storyline.

Also, if you level up your grand company rank, you can do squardon dungeons that gives you an instant entry in a dungeon.

I've never used Palace of the Dead to level a job. I've got 5 jobs to 70.

I've primarily used hunt bills, beast tribe quests, leves, and FATEs. Occasionally I'll go into a dungeon but not often. Is it fast? No, but I'm not in a rush.

I highly recommend finding a large FC that has leveling bonuses up every day. Given how populated Mateus is, it shouldn't be hard at all to find an FC that will provide this with minimal fuss. Combining that with food, which should give you a 3% boost that /does/ add up over time, it'll help make leveling go faster. As will asking people who are leveling healer or tank to help you queue until you get to 50 and can start exploiting MSQ roulette and Alliance Raids. Like others have said if you're willing to put in the effort Challenge Logs, Squadrons, and Levequests can also be viable options at your current level. It'll help break up the tedium. I would recommend FATES but if Mateus is anything like Balmung the FATE trains have been long since dead in ARR areas. (Also PoTD has nothing on the old FATE trains... I do miss them for variety but I'll forever be glad for not having to wait in Northern Thanalan for Dark Devices to pop while running around doing the less rewarding fates until it did.)
