Limsa Lominsa White Graphical Artifacts

I played a few years back and was getting blinking white artifacts showing in Limsa Lominsa. I figured my graphics cards (pair) were overheating a bit as I was overclocking, or one was faulty.

Fast forward to now, and I'm playing again, but this time using a generic, dime-a-dozen PS4. And, it's happening again, even worse. It's hard to describe so I made a video. In a nutshell, when I'm in Lominsa little white "blotches" will start to show up blinking. Sometimes they'll be in a straight line, other times they're just all over.

See video link below. Thanks for any help; this is really ruining the area for me. You can see the artifacts to the right of my character, near then end they start doing the blinking in a line thing. They don't show up too well in the video, but on a big screen they're extremely noticeable. The worst happens around the market board by the main plaza.

Edit: Found this Reddit thread showing the same issue from some time back. This individual was getting a solid white line. I have seen that too though typically it is flashing white blotches either in a line or all over the place. No idea how to fix this as I am using a PS4, and I doubt my HW is faulty as this seems to be a glitch. I don't think it is overheating as I'll notice it when logging in fresh at times. Does this happen only in this area? Or is it consistent regardless of where you are in the game? You said it persisted between the switch from PC to PS4, but are there any similarities in the setups of those two? Are you using the same display or HDMI cable, for example?

The issue occurs only in Limsa Lominsa areas:

- Limsa Lominsa - Hawker's Alley area.
- It is most prominent by the Market Board closest to the main square. Especially by the jeweler (see video).
- When facing the jeweler, run back and forth for a bit and they start to show up:
- On the wall way up high above the jeweler station.
- On the wall to the right of the station. Really bad there.
- On the ground, typically in a diagonal line.
- If you run back and forth in the sellers alley nearest to the main square, you'll see them form on the wall with the archway leading to the square.
- I've noticed it by the Alchemist aethernet too.
- Facing the aethernet they spawn on the right of it. Just "dash-like" blotches there.
- Stairway leading downstairs int the Alchemist guild (on the walls).
- I've seen videos of others with this issue, forming a while line when they access the summoning post (not sure which one).

It may have occurred once in the Waking Sands, main entry room on the wall w/the door leading outside. But honestly, I can't remember if that was what happened. But in general, yes, the glitches are confined to Limsa Lominsa and targeted to certain areas within. I can duplicate it at will with the same patterns in the same spots. The worst I get is always near the market board. I get no artifacts (or issues) elsewhere in the game.

My PC setup was NVIDIA GTX1080's (2) and a 4K monitor.
My PS4 setup is a 1080p (non-4K) monitor and the GPU inside of the PS4 (which is a Radeon).

The two really could't be more different.

I've swapped HDMI cables to see if that was the issue but it persisted after the swap. It looks to me like this is a graphical glitch on the "server side." Researched it on the internet, looks like it has been around for a long time and affected multiple people. When this happened to me years ago, I swapped out my card, changed things around, swapped cables... sure there was something wrong with my PC. But seeing it now on a PS4, am guessing this is a glitch in the game itself.

Let me know if you need any additional information, coordinates, or more videos. Would love to see this fixed as it caused me to swap out cards, change cables, freak out that I was frying my computer, etc.

Update:

I just logged into the game with an entirely different account on an entirely different PC than ever tested on. Specs are a NVIDIA Quadra 5000, 128G memory, and for kicks, an entirely different internet connection (at 1GB/s). The white artifacts still show. I then went through Display settings and tweaked each one testing... nothing made them go away. At maximum settings they were there, at the lowest settings they were there. I even logged out and logged back in using DirectX 9c and they were there.

So, at this point I am 100% certain that this is a bug in the game. Specifically within Limsa Lominsa. Based on searching over the internet and my own experience, it also appears it has been around for at least 1 1/2 years if not longer. Not sure what else I can do at this point. Honestly, it is a deal-breaker for me whether I continue playing. That sounds bizarre but I spend a lot of time in Limsa Lominsa in that area and the flashing blotches are giving me a headache :-( and throwing me out of character.

Anyway, if you find any resolution, let me know. Otherwise, I'm going to move onwards, thanks!

Considering that this is occurring across different platforms and displays, there is a possibility that this is a graphical bug. I'd suggest submitting a bug report here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...2-In-Game-Bugs. Make sure to fill out the template as listed in the sticky thread.

Unfortunately, this means that it won't be fixed immediately.

This appears in other indoor areas as well. I can't remember precisely where this was, but in one of the ARR questing hubs, there's a building that has a bar in its basement. That's where I first noticed this glitch.
