So I tried Deltascape V4(savage) last week....

I know it's old content at this point but I managed to find a party.

We almost made it do Neo Exdeath but we were 12% away from the transition and died to the enrage.

I went into the battle as a DRG and usually the two spots I have the most problem dodging are the tentancles in Decisive Battle and where the Black holes spawn when Exdeath cast them.

With Decisive battle I can identify the last tentacle to spawn and we stack for Holy just fine, but when the tentacles start their clear out I dunno from which direction the clear out circle would start cuz its either the right or left tentacle of the last spawning one that start it.A lot of the time I manage to do it but other times I pick the wrong direction or somehow get hit despite making sure I wasn't close to them

As with the black holes, depending on where Exdeath is being tanked some of them spawn right on top of me even tho I hear that I should stay somewhere close to Exdeath to give more room for tanks and healers to circle the tethered black holes around the arena.

I want to minimize dying as much as possible during those two instances cuz if the healer rezed us we may as well be dead since the weakness debuff severely cripples our DPS checking if more than two DPSes died

Tentacles start swiping in the direction they first spawned. I haven't step foot in there since it became open for farming without limit. Typically you identify the last tentacle, stack for knockback+holy, run in the direction of the first swipe (the first one that spawned) and then you split for flare markers (don't run into the breath else zombification).

I believe the popular strat was exdeath = true north? So tanks and healers can position their black holes appropriately and rotate before stacking for holy (after fire explosions). DPS typically stood near exdeath for uptime (but not too close to blow each other up). Also don't run into black holes hidden by his cape because that was/is a thing. You just need to be situationally aware of where black holes spawned and tethered to who and where.

That would explain me dying to the blackholes sometime cuz I thought behind him might be a safe spot since I usually position myself either behind or at the boss's flank.

It'll probably take me a bit more practice to memorize where the blackholes spawn beside the ones tethered to tanks and healers

If I remember correctly, the blackholes always spawn at random positions, so you can't really memorize their positions.

    Oh....

Is there at least a common safe spot that people use?Cuz I wanna avoid them spawning on top of me like what happened on my previous runs

Yeah, the black holes can, have, and will decide at random that you will not progress, because one or two of your party members are trapped with nowhere safe to lead their tethers. It's not even the worst case, by far, of rng being the deciding factor for progression in this game, but there you have it. There's no safe pattern, no set of patterns which which to adjust, just random placement of black holes wherever the game feels like dropping them.

Exdeath's black holes are easily the worst mechanic out of anything the pre-final boss of each tier has to offer.

The only thing that makes them less annoying is the fact that his fight is a mere four minutes long as opposed to around six like Kefka and eight for Omega M/F,

Yikes.........I'm not fond of RNG being a big deciding factors for bosses....tho now I see why people seem to find Sigmascape V4(Savage) easier than Deltascape V4(Savage)

And from what I've seen from Neo Exdeath on guides.....I dunno if I can manage to do it

All of the final fights sound really overwhelming on paper, but you can still get them down fairly down quickly due to the almost wholly scripted nature of XIV's encounters.

I let that scare me off from the savage Alexander raids entirely, but I managed to finish all of savage Omega in PUGs with some persistence.

If you can do Exdeath, you can do Neo. Exdeath was arguably more difficult than Neo was when the raid was current, because Neo's only dangers were Almagest and the Grand Crosses (the former of which is a healer check, so as a DPS you don't have to worry about it). Just learn how to do the Grand Crosses and you'll be fine. The entire fight repeats after Grand Cross Omega, and more than likely you'll kill Neo before you see his punchy temper tantrum right before enrage (which is another healer check while the rest of the party burns him down).
