    Rotation question for MCH mains

    My 3 ammo opener:

Hot Shot - Gauss Round - Quick Reload - Split - Hypercharge - Slug - Split - Rapid Fire - Flamethrower - (Wildfire when Overheat) - Heated Clean - Full Reload - Heated Slug - Ricochet - Heated Split - Reassemble - Heated Clean - Gauss Round - Quick Reload - Heated Split - (Gauss Barrel locks) *Wildfire boom* - Clean - Split - Overload

After my initial opener, throughout a fight, I'll always used Rapid Fire into Flamethrower, Wildfire right as I overheat and then a variation of my opener pending the procs and ammo leading up into it.

I've watched a lot of openers on Youtube and read a few others more online. With a 10 second Overheat AND Wildfire window, why aren't they up simultaneously? It's always something like blah blah blah Flamethrower into Overheat - Heated Split - Wildfire - Heated Clean - Rapidfire - etc. and then Gauss Barrel locks with a second or two left on Wildfire.

    What am I missing?

You're wasting massive amounts of gcd uptime by doing triple weaves, especially when it's with Flamethrower. Overheat fits 6 gcds while Wildfire only fits 5, so it makes sense to FT>gcd>WF because that minimizes gcd clipping without losing any potency in OH or WF. Your opener is very inefficient because of the triple weaves, unnecessary unheated shots and split shots in your WF window. If you don't have procs to spend in OHWF it's better to just spam Cooldown for higher average potency. Your Hypercharge is also too late to align well with Overload, raid buffs and later burst windows.

I would recommend the rotations here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

All my Shots, my only Shots, are Heated during the OH/WF window (5 GCDs + 2 OGCDs). The only UNheated shots are prior to Flamethrower and during the GB lockout. Which shots are you referring to?

Plus my Overload goes off with about 5 seconds of vuln left on the target. What Hypercharge/Overload alignment outside raid composition am I looking for?

3 unheated shots before FT instead of 2. Doing a 3rd shot will also result in a weaker proc loadout for the OHWF window (Clean proc will drop or be used only in OH, not in both OH and WF) or a bad weave like you have. Doing Hypercharge prepull will make it align with more heated shots down the line, it will also allow you to Overload earlier so you can catch Trick Attack and Chain Stratagem among other raid buffs. You always want to align everything according to favorable raid buff scenarios.

If you have more questions, I prefer to talk over at the Balance Discord because these forums are slow and clunky for this sort of conversation. There's also way more people there that can competently answer these questions than on these forums.

Except it's in your Wildfire window instead of after. Pop hypercharge 2 sec before pull so it doesn't waste a vuln refresh before you blow it up at the end of WF.

And as Kit mentions, you have an unnecessary Split shots in your WF, and no Cooldown Shots. Use Split Shot to break FT (which procs Slug), then Clean-Slug-Clean-CD-CD for your 5 GCDs.
