[Suggestion / Feedback] The Item Restoration Policy Needs Refinement

Over 4 years ago, I used the Item Restoration service to correct a mistake I made when purchasing items that were gated behind a weekly currency. In hindsight, I figured I wouldn't really make a mistake like this again, so I was happy to use the "One Time Only" Item Restoration service.

Today, I face a situation in which I would like to restore a piece of gear for different reasons than the above, only to be prohibited by the same policy despite speaking to a GM about the matter.

Other companies with titles of equal or lesser stature have more generous policies (Blizzard/WoW, ArenaNet/GW2 come to mind immediately). Blizzard has even automated this system and imposed a time limit on players to limit frequency of the requests.

I understand that, with the current process, it might become burdensome for GM's to answer and grant too many of these requests, but GM's still actually respond to them, and part of me can't help but wonder if they spend more time explaining to people why they can't help or dealing with people who are wholly dissatisfied with this policy than they would spend if they actually helped them out by granting the request.

I think it's pretty easy to tell when people have abused the policy based on their request history (which SE was able to cite back to me with dates included). As such, I think this policy has to be loosened in an effort for SE to be more consumer friendly.

Jup. I never used it and most likely never will, but a flat out once every year or smt should be the minimum.

Definitely would be nice to know I could use it more often if it wasn't a one time only thing. Once a year seems ok or maybe once every 6 months, as that's the most you can subscribe to at a single time.
