I feel Pyros will have less people entering it compared to Pagos, though. Since Anemos was easy to reach level cap and isn't a terrible map like Pagos is.People will enter Pyros; I see plenty of level 35s out there. The longevity though will definitely be shortened if nothing changes with Pagos.
Either way, bottom line is that nothing significant will happen to Pagos until Pagos is no longer "current". That's just always how it's been in this game.

It'd be one thing if Pagos was meant to truly be challenging. All it ended up being though was a means to slow people down as much as humanly possible. They didn't even try to mask that.

I have to agree with this. Simply because of the players that never bothered to start or finish Pagos—much like the ones who never bothered to finish Anemos. Pyros will see traffic, but I think it will be less than Eureka’s first two areas.
Myself, I currently have no plans to finish Pagos and enter Pyros. I don’t have issues with grinds when I have something to show for it—something that isn’t a complete waste of my time; I do have issues with grinds where I feel like I get nothing to show for it—or where I feel like I have wasted my time, or where my reward wasn’t worth the time spent on it.

Which will be in 5.0. 5.0 is when all the Eureka zones will be nerfed per previous relics’ example. I wouldn’t really call that a successful relic if people wait an entire expansion to actually do and complete the content.

I wanted my dyeable DRK armor so I went in to Anemos to get it. I had most of the +2 stuff. I went in twice for about 2 hours each and managed to get the scorpion harness, strider boots, Faf minion at least once. The Devs have drug their feet long enuf to do something about Pagos. This garbage content is so bad that I just turn off the game and do something else. Thanks SE for giving us EXACTLY what begged y’all not too.
I don't suppose we could extend this Request to the emote as well? I've been farming the cold lockboxes for days, and only have seen materia.
Please, please, raise the rate of the /shiver drop, or maybe even add it to the NM regular lockboxes at a low rate?
It's so frustrating trying to farm something locked behind three layers of RNG. (Mutation / Maybe you will get a lockbox / tiny chance of getting the emote)

honestly they just need to make the fates spawn and drop rates like anemos
weather and night related fates pop really fast etc etc
that plus a triple the Pagos crystals from fates would be a reasonable nerf to the place when pyros is out

Lol, all these threads keep coming.
I'm glad I never even finished the quest of Diadem 3.0.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I don't really see how Anemos was nerfed into the ground at all. There's an EXP boost but as far as I can tell it only applies to regular enemies and not the NMs (that or it's such an insignificant boost I don't really see it), and nobody really did those to level anyway. The grinds for the actual gear are still the same as ever, the same amount of stuff drops per NM and the gear all costs the same amount of stuff. The only real difference is that now you can skip Pazuzu, but nobody ever skips Pazuzu anyway; every instance I join people are still itching to go and kill him.
