Request: Make Pagos NM Items Obtainable

Hello there, before I start this thread, I want to note that this is not a Pagos Hate Thread. I generally enjoy Pagos! This thread is about one aspect of it though that I hope the developers will change.

That aspect is the current obtainability of the items from various NMs in Pagos. Specifically the Speed Belt, Cassie's Earrings, and the Optical Hat. Right now these items are simply far too hard to obtain.

I have been in Pagos for more than 30 days, 12 hours a day, targeting just the items, and have made almost no progress to getting them.

To give people an idea of how hard to obtain these items are, here’s my personal experience with each one:

Speed Belt

This is the easiest of the 3 items to obtain. It drops from a FATE that is popped relatively frequently for Pagos, however from my experience it appears to have a drop rate close to 1%.

In the last 30 days I’ve managed to average about 3 crab pops a day. But even with all that, still haven't managed to get a Speed Belt.

Of the three items this one at least exists on the Auction House and can be bought, although right now in limited quantities.

Cassie's Earrings

Cassie is such a rare occurrence in Pagos that many consider her to be a complete Myth.

Of course she isn't a myth, however she does get popped significantly less often than other NMs.

In the last 30 days I believe I've seen Cassie around 14 times, but she appears to have the same drop rate as the Speed Belt (~1%), meaning that actually obtaining this item may as well be a pipe dream.

This item is so rare you can't even buy it on my server. Only one has ever been sold since Pagos release -_-.

Optical Hat

This one is deceptive because it feels like it should be the easiest to obtain. Simply do enough bunny fates to get the eyes, craft the cluster, and you get a guaranteed drop right?

The problem is that people just don’t do the Bunny FATES anymore, most days they go unfinished.

The main reason for this is that there’s little incentive to do them due to the rarity of rewards you get from it. I have had 5 hour long bunny fate parties come out with basically nothing.

The drop rates for golden chests on these are absurdly low. My own experience has been somewhere in the range of ~4% for a Gold Chest. Which on top of being Rare you have to hope aren't duplicates of something you already have.

Theoretically this one is possible to Buy your way through, except the rarity of people doing the fates means that you likely can’t actually buy the eyes on your server.

Conclusion

I hope with this I've expressed just how frustratingly unobtainable these items feel, especially as Pagos has winded down and less players are playing than were during the initial launch.

My request is that the Developers add some sort of pathway of obtaining these items. I'm not asking for a handout or whatever, but just some way to obtain these items by working towards them

From what I've heard, the Pagos items are guaranteed to drop, but only to one person who participates and gets a Gold in the FATE (so imagine 144 players being level 35 clearing the Cassie FATE. Only one will get the earring. It's dumb, yes).

Regarding the Optical Hat, I've heard it's not a guaranteed drop even if you have the Hakutaku eyes (though I think it still follows the same rules as the other items. So if you're the only one with Gold, then it's guaranteed, but if multiple people have the eyes, then it becomes a luck of the draw).

I agree that the items should be easier to get. Heck, Pagos overall needs to be made 'easier' if SE want people to enter Pyros.

This is a Pagos Myth. There are no guaranteed drops, you can get more than 1 drop per FATE. People just think this because of the absurdly low drop rate. But I assure you I have seen more than one Speed Belt drop from Artho, and I have seen 0 earrings drop from Cassie (in a group of 16 people, we checked).

I was hoping that they would have nerfed Pagos significantly to allow people to progress but that does not appear to be happening. With that said, I do not expect the items to be made easier to obtain, which is unfortunate but I guess they wanted them to be super rare.

Significant nerfs won't happen until the next segment is actually released, possibly even later. Pretty much how it's always been with segmented content involving the relic weapons.

I feel SE would have to give Pagos a super nerf of sorts if they want people to enter Pyros.

People will enter Pyros; I see plenty of level 35s out there. The longevity though will definitely be shortened if nothing changes with Pagos.

Either way, bottom line is that nothing significant will happen to Pagos until Pagos is no longer "current". That's just always how it's been in this game.

I hate events that require a large group that isn't part of DF and lock nice vanity items behind it. Reminds me of diadem as I can't do it solo and really want the pegasus mount. Once Eureka is outdated and no one does it then people that miss it will have it rough unless they make it soloable.
