try recalibrating/resetting the controller?

how old are they? I've had issues before with older controllers and movement issues. might be time for a new one.

To clarify, is the character moving, or does the camera move?

Have you attempted using a different controller? Does this exhibit the same issue?

Are you using the controller wirelessly or connected with a USB cable? Have you tried both?

Sorry, looking back on your questions i should have clarified it better.
Not sure on my friends, but i use 2 controllers, one charging while other one is in use. both are 3-4 months old.
Don't think you can recalibrate the controllers without opening them up, but 5-6 controllers across 3 people id wager its not the problem.
Both are standard wireless, charging cable is way to short for me to play, but i know one of my friends does and he has this issue as well.
The camera turns, not character, so right stick on the controller, as if your panning the camera to see to your left, but since i play legacy, its the whole character turning.
