    Exclamation Consistent Disconnects everyday

Every evening when i play either raiding or just misc stuff i always end up having frequent 90006 disconnect errors. This is an issue that has been occuring for about 3-6 weeks now, starting shortly after 4.4 release.
it all usually happens between the hours of 7pm CST and 3am CST on a frequency of a disconnection happening every 10-25mins at a time.

i've done some tracert and ping tests to the aether data center while waiting for a disconnection to find any dropped packets but there were none. i tried the same to other websites and same results. so i am fairly positive that the issue is not a home issue. but that leaves me with very little information with how to resolve the issue.

    I play on PC
    Wireless connection
only discord and my mudfish pingzapper (also not the cause of the issue because ive tested it aswell)
    every 15-25mins
    between 7pm-3am CST
    listed above.

im honestly unsure if it had anything to do with the DDOS attacks that happened recently, routing to the server, ISP etc...

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The DDOS attacks have been pretty widespread recently, so it may be affecting your connection to the game at least somewhat. When did you first start getting these disconnections? Do you have any other connectivity issues with the game, such as lag or latency?

I'd suggest using a wired connection if you have the opportunity. This will make your connection a bit more stable even if you are running into some issues later in your route.

Do you notice any pattern to your disconnections? Are you in the same location in-game (like an instance) every time? You mentioned it usually happens during the evenings, so do you have no issues if you play outside of the listed times?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Hi, thanks for the response!

I started getting these connections about 2 or 3 weeks after the release of Patch 4.4 so i would say somewhere around the end of September to the first week of October.
As far as any other connectivity issues i have none since i use a pingzapper to reduce my latency.

Now for the wired connection that is gonna be impossible for me due to my location in my home. but thats never really affected me before the issues started.

For the patterns, I seem to have the problem in any instanced duties Alphascape savage particularly in V3S and V4S with V4S being the absolute worst. Outside of duties i can run into this issue in the open world.
funny enough i have not have the issue occur to me in the Shirogane housing district.

I typically cant play earlier in the day as much as i used to anymore so i have no information if i have these issues before 7pm CST.

If the days and time mean anything to note, i raid 9-12pm CST on weds and 7-10pm CST sundays.
on my weds night raid sometimes im fine for the first hour to hour 1/2 without any issues but when they start it will not go away.
on sundays its typically the same as weds, usually my first hour is without issues then it starts up.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Forums,

I apologize for the delay in my response. It does sounds like an issue with the server being congested if you are only disconnected at certain times. Below are some trouble shooting techniques that may fix the problem:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

-Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    - Check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

-Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.

    Hope to see you online!

Sorry to piggyback your post but I have the same problem, as do 3 of my friends. We consistently dc during peak times, it seems like it is infact the DDoS as we have all performed network troubleshooting as per usual, is there any ETA on when this will all be fixed? Thanks.

I likely won't see your replies to my posts so if it's important, /tell Lem Ayase@Kujata .

    Hello Lemage.

Unfortunately, a DDoS isn't something we have control over. So there isn't an ETA we can give on when it will be over.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please see the Lodestone for any updates on the DDoS attacks.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

This has been happening for days now for me too. Starting on Tuesday whenever I go to a different area or fight in a dungeon/trail/raid. Basically, as soon as I start fighting I get an 90002 error code after disconnecting. I can play fine in the over world but cannot do a single fight at all in dungeons and such.
Seriously, load into the fights fine. Walk up to the enemies fine. And as soon as I'm 5-10 seconds into the fight I lose my connection.
It is getting tiresome to even try playing.
