That's why things like Provoke don't work on them. And if they generated so much agro that they were in a position to pull that griefing, they're probably getting the credit anyway.
Looks like the majority here have no problems with someone getting credit for something they didn't work to spawn, even if it locks out the people who did do the work. I can't see how anyone could argue that's fair. Sure it doesn't break any rules but it isn't fair.
Pulling a hunt when you know other people are on the way is not simply selfish, it's deliberately spoiling their game experience.
It's attitudes like this that put me off hunting.
As reporting a player for resetting a mob that's going to die in approximately 10 seconds (assuming it's in HW or ARR), I just don't see the need. If your time is that short, you probably shouldn't be playing in the first place.
Personally, I'd like to see all hunt mobs in the older expansions buffed in some way so that they do not die in five minutes and need a large group to kill. That way nobody would need to attempt a 'courtesy reset' if they accidentally pulled.
There's always someone still on the way. It never freaking ends. Take a quick look at Pagos for the exact same thing and the NMs in there. "Please wait for the level 20s who have to walk to get to a level 35 FATE even though they get rewarded practically nothing".
I got flamed to high hell for not waiting longer than 5 minutes after I spawned Hakutaku single handedly, and I decided I wanted to pull it. If someone else pulled it before I did then tough luck, nothing I could have done about it.
You just summed up hunts.
They won't buff a monster that's already the strongest it can be for the expansion the area it's in belongs to. But a level sync mechanism of some sort is a frequent suggestion when the topic arises. If it's already designed for light or full parties then that still shouldn't be a problem ultimately. Might be nice to see some of the older hunts have some bite againPersonally, I'd like to see all hunt mobs in the older expansions buffed in some way so that they do not die in five minutes and need a large group to kill.
It's not about being fair. If the system was designed around everyone getting credit they wouldn't be ephemerally in the world or have a reward threshold. The rest is exactly what Corbin said. The same can be said about trying to increase their health, it's never enough.Looks like the majority here have no problems with someone getting credit for something they didn't work to spawn, even if it locks out the people who did do the work. Who is to say that reset didn't deny someone else that was already there of credit? Not very fair to them either. If they're going to reset one thing, why would someone bother with the cognitive load that they might not reset something else.
I help with a majority of the pops on my server.
Generally, we wait 2-3 min after call before pull (using Timestamps) unless there is a massive stream of unique shouts in the chat log. If it seems like a massive crowd is actually inbound we generally just wait until someone else inevitably pulls, we get our credit either way. Never bother to shout a pull time because when we tried that it was never adhered too (and actually seemed to encourage someone to pull immediately after shouting a set time.)
The major issue we've noticed is the "delayed relayers" or ppl that wait to relay after they ARRIVE at the hunt from receiving our call... Which is the prime reason scenarios get set up where ppl think something has been "early pulled" when it's actually been up with a crowd gathered at it for well over 5 min when they finally got their first call.
Make your relay macros work off <flag> ppl!
I remember being at an S-rank kill once. I was with the group that found the NM. We announced it, and about five minutes later, there were enough people to kill it. Miraculously, we waited another five minutes with no one pulling while others arrived. We asked around, and everyone seemed cool with pulling, so we did. As the monster died, someone flew in, landed, and shouted, "Who's the jerk who pulled early???" XD
Right, so if hunts don't belong to anyone and are fair game, then why is Douchey-Mc-Earlypullers entitlement to credit so important? It's not his hunt either. He doesn't own it, he's not entitled to credit. If someone reset it on him and he did somehow lose credit, tough luck to him.
I mean, why is the forum attitude working one way where the community and hunt spawner have zero claim on an S rank and the early puller has full claim to the degree that he can report if he doesn't recieve it.
man oh man how narrow can you focus on something. Credit for doing 100 damage on a hunt? seriously dude chill outIt is called "The hunt" not "The wait". There is no such thing as pulling early. If I find a hunt and want to kill it myself, I have that right. You have no right to reset that hunt, which would remove all my accumulated credit. Depending on the rank, I may not be able to get enough credit if you've waited for the whole server to show up. Same thing for me, if I pop or find a hunt and engage, I can't reset it if there are others fighting, because that isn't fair to them and their accumulated credit. Resetting a hunt is griefing, pure and simple.
