Does everyone remember like a year ago when this forum was literally all just arguments about the validity of the belief that healer dps should be mandatory and standing around doing nothing was rude and useless?

I feel like it's finally over. We made it. We won. All those thousands of posts and now we live in a world where Donald Trump is president and healers know they should dps.

I think it was the death of cleric stance that did it. Locking yourself out of heals with an ability that doesn't reliably deactivate, but if you double press it might instantly reactivate.... yeah. DPSing is a lot smoother/easier/less intimidating.

Also I don't think that "devs don't design content factoring in healer DPS" really applies outside of the duty finder anymore. There's too many enrages you'll hit if you're missing the 4k combined DPS or so.

I confess I made this mostly as a joke to amuse a friend on their birthday but I'm happy to come back to it a day later and not see any argument. It almost makes it feel like it's really over.

I agree to an extent about Cleric Stance. As much as I personally may miss it I'm happy it's removal has made dps more accessible for healers, sprouts in particular. Good stuff.

And us WHMs are still salty. I don't think that'll ever change unfortunately. Lol.

I can't be as optimistic as you're.

Maybe us WHM will be buffed, but that won't change the fact that S-E loves SCH and S-E have fun fine tunning AST. At 5.4 we'll benched again. And when a new healer appears (Dancer, Geomancer, Green Mage, Beastmaster, whatever), we'll be benched even more. S-E will happily fine tune that new class, will buff AST, buff SCH and forget we even exist to the point we'll even be locked out of PF. The utilities we yet have will be given to other healers or just taken away and we will receive none. And lillies will remain the same.

Sorry for that exageration, but is how I feel about WHM's future. And that's why I'm testing SCH and AST.

Preaching to the choir, friend. That's why I'm a RDM now. When I joined my current static the WHM offered to go SMN so I could keep healing and I decided this was still preferable.
