Once again, I find that a lot of my tentative head canon has been confirmed. I reasoned that Garlemald would be unlikely to lean heavily on naval exploration/travel based on airships being a thing and the northern reaches of Ilsabard being frozen for much of the year. My Hingan's stance on Ijin is also supported - he found himself wary of their motives, seeing many as troublemakers with lofty ideals that did not necessarily align with Hingashi's traditional approach. He is very much an opportunist, seeking to make money off of visiting Ijin and learn of their ways to better guard his homeland against their habit of pushing for reform and eroding away cultural elements.

As for Zenos being confirmed as being the eldest son of Varis, that is promising - though his other heirs may not necessarily be alive. Assassination attempts were made on Zenos' life, after all. I wonder how his other children fared? I'm also eager to learn more about Varis' wife. There's no real mention of her so far beyond a very loose connection in the form of there being some sort of palace where an Emperor's consort resides. On that note, it'd be interesting to learn about Solus' wife given what we know about his current nature...

It's going to be an excellent tool for role-players such as myself.
