I'd be a lot happier and more productive in leveling crafters, if I could just craft directly from the retainer inventory instead of requiring it to be on my character. SWTOR does this (frankly the only good thing they've done) with the storage. You can store everything in your storage, and craft with all of your characters while none of them are required to have it in their direct inventory. It pulls from shared storage, personal storage and what is on the character so you can craft and not fill your bag with components on the character.

TLDR: I am happy. It could be better.

If they aren't going to do anything to address the rampant crafting bots, I'm starting to wish they would just allow looping macros so everyone can output crafts at a similar rate (Assuming they have the mats...).

I also think they need to make a lot more materials bind on pick up to make it so people actually putting in effort can craft more stuff, because as it stands, the ability to buy Mendacity mats from the MB is essential to the average bot farmer being able to function, but hardly necessary for legitimate players.

wait what??? crafting never been skilled since the start of the game... 90% of players legit use macros to craft majority of items

i know plenty of omnicrafters who set up their mouse macros to chain loop ingame macros to craft items.... whilst they watching netflix or playing on another game....

If you want crafting to be more "skilled" they need to remove macros and have more focus on the "good" "perfect" "bad" conditions when crafting also more emphisis on specialist....

i do wish they stop players to switch specialist roles per week, either nerf crafter souls to 1 soul only (3 is too much) or disband the whole specialist idea all together

I haven't switched specialties for months now. My non specialist macros only need 10% starting quality and I habitually HQ materials. Unless there will be another tier of recipes, specialist is pretty dead for 4.x.

Feels too easy. I miss having to pay attention to my crafts. Even in HW when I was above requirements and could pretty reliably HQ anything I wanted, I still had to pay attention to my procs and shuffle things around within my rotation.

Something else that kind of bugs me about the state of crafting is the demand for ALC's infusions compared to other crafted goods is ridiculously lopsided.

I feel like they should be revamped so that they're basically like food, but for primary stats so people won't need to be chugging them constantly to deal optimal DPS. It would also make VIT infusions actually useful, since there's virtually no reason to use them over STR infusions unless your tanks are somehow so squishy that they'd actually need 30 seconds of increased HP to survive mechanics.

Another point for discussion, how do you guys feel about gear progression this expansion?

    We went:
Lv70 white HQ set -> Half an Ala-Mhigan white 2 star set -> Green 3 star set

Would you be happy if Shadowbringers copied this pattern?

Why does the "color" of the gear matter? Either it's an upgrade over what was previously available or it isn't.

As long as it's an upgrade so I have something new to work toward, I'm good.

So long as there's gear to get, that's really all that matters. Especially if it has Materia slots on it (Like the Handking stuff from Yellow Scripts doesn't...)

Anyway, as far as overall happiness with the state of crafting...

I'm mostly happy. Having a 100% chance quality increase is so nice, because RNG sucks.

My only qualm is that I wish the classes had a bit more flavour to them. Like, as it is right now, omnicrafting is just using the exact same skills across each class, with the exact same gear (Sans tools). It's as if it was just a single class you have to level up 8 times... So yeah, I kind of wish there was some stuff that made each class feel a little bit more unique and have the 8 different classes be justified (Since, right now, it may as well be just condensed down to a single class and the only real impact it'd have is removing the need to swap specialties constantly...)
