    Machinist help?

After raising my Machinist to 70, I tried to play it on and off to not much success. Overheating earlier than usual, leaving skills like quick reload, rapid fire, and hot shot not being reapplied every 60 seconds. Any tips to help manage all these cooldowns as they are very overwhelming.

Any tips? For sure. Machinist specific tips? As i dont play the class, ill leave any specifics to someone who knows what theyre talking about.

So it sounds to me like since youve played it off and on without really finding a groove, that this is likely a practice issue more then anything. That you understand what you should be trying to do, but dont have the muscle memory built up to do it on demand. That is solvable(the alternative - you actually arent sure what you should be doing is also solvable with a good guide). So while this is a boring answer, its still good advice. If lack of practice is the problem, then practice is the solution. I would spend some serious time with a training dummy. Simulate some long fights and just go to town for several cycles through your rotation. Do this a few times. Once youre a bit more comfortable, this is where id try to check your numbers. If you have any friends with a crystal ball who would be willing to help then accept their generosity. If not, use the SSS dummies. If things have improved, great! If not, spend a bit longer in practice(maybe find some MCH PoV vids to watch as well?) and try again.

And ultimately, try not to get discouraged. Every class has its own idiosyncrasies that make it unique, as does every person. Its possible that the ideal play for this class is at odds with the way you work as an individual and that something else would be a more natural fit. Of course, a willingness to fight against ones nature for something you want enough is also unique to an individual.
