Should I wait for the i390 or keep getting tome gear?

BRD takes the i385 Suzaku bow over the i390/i400 Tome bow because it has Crit on it.
MCH takes the i390/i400 Tome gun over the i405 Savage gun because it doesn’t have Skill Speed. NOT because it has Crit on it.

It’s not really the same thing.

An addendum to this. The Omega gun is still, technically, better according to Balance. Most BiS still use it, though because SkS is worthless to MCH, you do have the option without it being a big hindrance. Meanwhile, if you switched the stats on the Omega Bow with the Tome Bow, the latter is instantly BiS without a second thought.

Yea I haven't looked recently, last I heard MCH had to sub some crafted pieces to make up for raid weapon skill speed. Either way, the only difference is BRD gets more dps from crit procs while MCH rotation is only slightly screwed over by skill speed. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. My only point was BRD is not the only job dealing with this conundrum. Personally I have to put MCH on the back burner since WAR is my main, I totally farmed up the Suzaku totems before I realized MCH weapon was garbage lol. Will be awhile before I can get tome weapon for it

I think somewhere there was a loss in translation. My original point has been that BRD is a strange job that has already consistently sacrificed main stat for a substat (Sigmascape BiS sacrificed several points of DEX for a couple hundred points of Critical Hit), and now they’re willingly sacrificing weapon damage for Critical Hit (most BRDs won’t touch the i400 bow because of the lack of Crit—fun fact: the UwU/Diamond bow is actually considered better than the i380 crafted bow because the crafted bow doesn’t have Crit on it, and you cannot pentameld enough Crit on it to match the value of the UwU/Diamond Bow).

I consider it a bit different than a MCH who would rather have the Tome Gun over the Omega Gun simply because “I don’t want the skill speed” when BRDs take pieces with higher Crit on them—even over main stat and weapon damage—simply because they’re inherently better for the job because of the way its mechanic functions...and because of the insane Crit scaling this tier.

It's more than "I don't want skill speed", too much will entirely cuck MCH rotation. It's not an opinion, it's fact. Just like BRD getting more DPS from crit procs is a fact and not opinion. At the end of the day, I just blame SE's poor quality control xD

If you mean Augmented i390 from the i380 crafted, the crafted bow is still worse than Suzaku because it has not Crit on it. That being said. It won’t come out until probably Patch 4.5.

If you mean the next set of crafted gear, that’s not going to help with gearing for this tier’s prog as it wont come until the east expansion.
