    PC freezes again

I started having this issue after patch 4.4 and I had already posted for support here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...fter-patch-4.4

I kept getting freezes as soon as I logged in. Screen would just turn black and I was forced to hard reboot.

The problem "seemed" to be some corrupt file in the "Documents" folder, so I deleted it (and with it all settings, keybinds etc) and didn't have this problem anymore.

However, after 2 weeks now the same problem is back. Sorry but I can't keep resetting all my interfaces all the time, every time. It takes me 1h every time just to make it perfect again and I don't want to spend my weekends with an headache because of this.

I'd rather get some proper support with a permanent solution, rather than this bandaid.

It also feels like your game is breaking my PC. I've never ever seen this type of problem with any of the games I played so far. Never. It's specifically ffxiv that freezes my PC. Not only that, but after I have to reboot sometimes the PC doesn't even properly reboot (eg it will start up but still black screen, and I have to reboot again). I don't think my pc enjoys 30 consecutive reboots.

For example, after it happened, I played BDO for 3h, played fallout4 for 5h, played/afked in wow for 8-9h and didn't have one single issue. After this session I specifically try again to start up ffxiv and BAM, freeze. It's reproducible and it's specifically with ffxiv.

Please, this time try to properly assist me rather than the generic "delete document folder".

    Thanks

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

I apologize for the delay in my response. Does your your GPU have an overclock, or has it had one in the past? Please try the following suggestions:

    - Switch to DirectX 9 mode (select ‘Config’ from the launcher)
-Make sure that any anti-virus software you have has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV
    - Install game on C drive (The same drive as the Operating System)
-Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 (right click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7)

    Hope to see you online!
